How do I take sounds out of the Backpack and put them into the stage or a sprite?

Well, once you drag the sound from another sprite into the backpack, you can then go back to your project, and drag the sound out of the backpack and onto one of your sprites. Hope this helps!

I guess this is turning into a bug report now, but the sound is not going into the sprite. I have tried a new project and one of my existing projects. I have dragged the sound onto a sprite in the sprites menu, the sprite's Sounds tab, the sprite on the stage, and inside the Sounds tab, yet nothing happens.

This wa a glitch I reported during the Alpha testing, and it was marked as “fixed”. It has never worked for me.

I suggest clicking the “Save to local file” button. Music on Scratch doesn't contain viruses, it can't because the sounds have to be MP3's then, upload it to the project you want ;D

I know I COULD just upload it to my file but I have a problem with crouds, and it`s getting crouded, so please help me!

Go to sounds
Click upload sounds
Click the NAME of the sound that you want
Click upload

So, if we upload an MP3 file from disk, into a project, where does that sound live? It's not in the sounds library, and seems to be unavailable to other projects, even if I share the original project - even new projects I create don't have access. Do I need to upload the sound file for each new project?

Well, I guess I don't feel so foolish - because I tried to do the BP move, and it failed. Nice to know it's a bug and not just me. Thanks to everybody who weighed in.

If you really want the sound I would say you should download it from the other project, then upload it to your new project.
