How To Guide: How to Search other things on Scratch
I am new to Scratch and tried to figure out how to search the discussion forums.
The intuitive way - go to discuss and click search - does not work. The thread opener explained that this does not work (for whatever reason), that this has been explained in the sticky FAQ thread and how to search using Google.
Unfortunately, there is no “how to search the discussion forums” question in the FAQ. Even though it might be somewhere hidden under a different question I can understand people don't find anything. Appreciate any guidance on where to find the answer to the question.
While I appreciate this new thread explaining the workaround I still don't get if this is just a temporary issue (bcs the search function broke somehow) or if this is how it is intended to be. If the latter is true I strongly advocate to rethink this approach.
In developing software we want to focus also on user experience and usability. While using Google might work it is simply not the intuitive way anybody knows who uses discussion forums all over the Internet. Hence, I strongly advocate to rethink this approach. Especially a discussion forum which is dedicated to developing software for younger students should be kind of a role model.

How To Guide: How to Search other things on Scratch
I am new to Scratch and tried to figure out how to search the discussion forums. This is a temporary issue at the moment (Scratch Wiki). The Scratch Team has stated that they plan to add functionality to the search bar. But like I said, I am not sure when this will be fixed.

Thanks for mentioning the issue, though. I do think that the current workaround isn't very practical on a kids website.

It could be true that it may take a while to cache your studio. Otherwise, it may be helpful to ask a question here- https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/4/topic/add/ (not many people reply to this topic anyways…
