Your thoughts on the New Nintendo 2DS XL

You heard that right. Nintendo is making a 150 dollar handheld that is basically a New Nintendo 3DS XL without the 3d.
Discuss your opinions on it here.

I am not interested if you cannot fold it.
If it can fold, I might finally upgrade my 3DS.
I didn't care about the 3D effect that much anyway; it made the games look blurry and gave me headaches.
The thing is: Some of the 3DS games I have were made to take full advantage of the 3D effect (Like Mario Kart 7, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and a few others). It is disappointing that I can't enjoy them with 3D on because of the reasons I just mentioned.

I would imagine that being both of the screens combined into one hunk of electronics and plastic. (Then the 1DS XL, New Nintendo 1DS and the New Nintendo 1DS XL.)

There's actually a YouTube video about that. The guy in the video actually folded the 1DS like paper and it had only one screen. DS stands for dual screen, however, so a 1DS would technically be called a Nintendo 1S.

Maybe for “middle class” gamers? You know, 2DS, 2DS XL, then the 3DS systems?

As I a 15-yearold I feel sorry for the new gamers 6/7 they have no decent software like the ds now. I mean if they do a Nintendo DSX or something more improved etc, new game card better graphics but you can play DS and 3DS games I think that would sell very very very well.

No camera, no galaxy style, and you can turn the 3D off of the 3DS.

It's basically a wtered down, slightly cheaper New 3DS that's only a tiny bit better than the Nintendo DoorStop.

There actually are cameras, just where the DSi cameras were.

Yeah, you would either have to be really cheap (It's not like the regular 3DS is expensive!) or really anxious that your kids would somehow sneak into the Parental Controls.

I think it's for people who haven't even got a 3DS/2DS yet????? (however this is a very odd time to be making a new 3DS, the switch is out and the 3DS and wii U are on the verge of dying)

Nooooooope, noooope nope. Only the Wii U is dying. The 3DS is not dying AT ALL. Sure, the Switch is a mix between handheld and console, but is it really worth the money? Especially for the games? No, the 3DS is very much alive and healthy, and getting healthier all the time! The only reason it would be dying is if Nintendo was phasing it out, which, as you have just seen, they are not at all.

Besides, if they phased out the 3DS, they would have only one major gaming device left to sell!
