The Bug
For some reason, upon posting on some topics, it'll bring up an “Our Server is Scratch'ing Its Head” message (or a 404 Error), indicating that something has gone wrong. However, upon pressing “Back”, you'll end up on the topic again… But your post will have still gone through! These notices appear quite frequently, and get more and more annoying as time goes on.

Just replied to a topic in the help with scripts forum, got a 403 error when reply hit, then the topic was no longer in the help with scripts forum. If I Iook at “my posts” then its not there either.

Edit: Got a 404 with this one but it's still here. Definitely something bad going on with the servers…..

Are the missing posts by New Scratchers? If so, it might be that the post got caught by the commercial spam catcher bot and moved out of sight. I review those posts a couple of times a day and restore all the posts that are false positive hits.

The one I'm initially reporting is by a New Scratcher; however, the issue also happens to normal Scratchers. One of my forum posts was just removed; I tried replying to something, but upon posting it a 404 error occurred and my post was gone. Luckily, I had copied it to my clipboard, so I attempted to repost it only to see that there were server problems. Also, @drmcw above seems to have had the same issue, and they're not a New Scratcher.

I experience the same thing, though different. When I post something, sometimes it gives me a 404 Error, but my post is still sent.

That happens sometimes too; the bug I'm reporting started happening yesterday.

https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/245146/ is the post that disappeared. It's now back and I replied to it again without a problem. Yes the OP is a new scratcher.

It looks like the problem has been solved; the order I was talking about just magically appeared. It had disappeared for everyone, though… Strange. Well, I'll write in the OP that this problem seems to have been fixed, until someone posts about this issue again or we get an official response. It might have been what Paddle2See mentioned, but at the same time the errors created when attempting to post, only to still have the post back, has also appeared to have been fixed, which doesn't appear to be what Paddle2See was talking about.

I am a New Scratcher and my posts are going missing MANY TIMES OVER… Really long comments, new forum topics, etc… The problem is not fixed for me. Non of my posts have anything questionable that a bot would think they were bad.

Okay, this morning my posts have reappeared… including the multiple attempts at posting comments so there's a whole bunch of duplicates now and I don't have an ability to delete my own posts. :-(

Anyway, good to know they will come back eventually. I would suggest if there IS a bot doing this, at least have it send a message to the owner saying why it was deleted… or that it is temporarily hidden until a human can validate it or something like that.

Just happened again replying to a new scratcher. Got a 403 and the post has gone. Think the spam filter is being overzealous.

Yeah, it's been happening a lot more often recently for some reason.

So what happens for me is that I am writing a post. I hit “Submit” and then it takes me to a 404 page. Then, I hit the back page button on my browser, and it takes me back to here with my post submitted!

I just reload the page when that happens.
