what did they do to youtube
i was a baby in 2006
They integrated Google+ and changed everything with very little information given.
They're only helping with editor design and function. Although Scratch seems like a minor SM platform, I don't think they're going to do much harm to the Scratch website (kids) without the ST's permission.

That's assuming they're helping with the website at all.

Something that will become (more) possible in 3.0 are Scratch mods which can be installed just by running JS on the page. Think about it! Widescreen, 60FPS, (insert thing that ST is too kid-focused to add),…

Google has no control over Scratch 3.0, they're just contributing code and guidance while the ST develops the new editor

Back when YouTube was founded, it was actually an independent company with a brilliant idea, with barely anyone on it.

Google bought/assumed YouTube, integrating Google+ and all of their product marketting into it, heavily modifying it's design, while maintaining the simple idea; “share videos.”

Well Sigton is technically inaccurate about this, but don't fear - Google is just helping with basic design - and that should be about it. The only part you should notice is design, but you won't see Google+ everywhere on the website unlike YouTube.

I'm guessing that these would be the limits
 go to x:(960)y:(540)
or
 go to x:(-960)y:(-540)
Technically it would be
({go to x: (959) y: (540)} :: grey ring) to ({go to x: (-960) y: (-539)} :: grey ring) :: grey
if it's like the current stage, yours would make it one pixel too big. Why one is biased towards negative and the other towards positive I have no idea, but that's how it is.

Actually, Scratch 3.0 will be run at 60 FPS at default.
However, that means that a lot of projects that check how many seconds something repeats for will be chopped! (Such as Griffpatch_Tutor's platformer tutorial)

Just change the var values slightly. No biggie.

Emphasis on possibly:

Projects (possibly) play at 60 ticks and frames per second, rather than 30 (and previously 40).

Maybe Griffpatch should use a timer so people can keeping using his wall jump script until the end of time Scratch.
Also, why does everything I post in the ATs cause such a huge, off topic reaction? I should change my logo to one like your's.

new**** projects will run at 60 tps by default. 2.0 projects will continue to run at 30 by default. And it's still subject to change

Scratch 3.0

I heard from the wiki that scratch 3.0 might be using blocks horizontally. Will the blocks be used vertically or horizontally, or will it differ depending on whether a mobile device or a computer is being used?

I believe that the horizontal blocks will be used for a mobile interface, while the vertical blocks will be for the computer interface.

I believe there is a setting on both platforms, meaning you can choose whichever you prefer.

The horizontal grammar will be for the next version or ScratchJr, and the vertical grammar will be used for regular Scratch on both mobile and desktop. There may or may not be an official way to convert from the horizontal grammar to the vertical grammar, but vertical->horizontal is unlikely since right now the horizontal grammar doesn't support reporters

I think you're exaggerating a little. No. More than a little.
