A new generation has arrived: Scratch 3.0
Scratch is approaching a new era. The 3rd generation.
And the newcomers are going to join that train. These new scratchers should be very happy about what they are getting!
Even older ones will be happy about this new layout (not so much with the colour choices).
But, with the newer coming in, the older are forgotten. But sometimes, it's a good thing. Like Scratch 1.4's bitmap only… eugh.
So, with Google's collaboration, where do you think this will go? But before you answer that, go look at the Pre-Alpha of Scratch 3.0.
A good tip is to actually zoom out on chrome or firefox (not IE) if you're on a laptop. If not, then your screen will need to be 1920x1080.
The alpha release is supposedly sometime this year, the beta following up, then with the public release to have been put out on the internet by 2019.
But besides Scratch 3.0, Scratch 2.0 was actually a good beginning to our Scratch Timeline. I'm sure they will not do ‘Scratch 3.0 to Scratch 4.0!’ as instead they will go up in decimals. Such as Scratch 3.1 or Scratch 3.2 and above.
When we get our great edition to the timeline, we'll get a bunch of new and exciting features, some including easier ways to do coding with minimal lag, such as problems when you try making savecodes. Or saving in general! The difficult process really messes with your brain. But when those new features arrive with a good polish on the wax, they'll come out shiny with every bug squashed and wiped off the release. Of course, there will be Alpha Testers, then Beta Testers, and they will most likely get some sort of supportive thanks from the ST (Scratch Team). Of course, we can all always dream about being in there. Though my future job is with Mojang, a great developing team. Start small, grow big! Who knows, I could be an indie developer in the coming years. But this concludes my talk on the new generation.
