So I got this program free for having bought Voxatron in pre-alpha. It costs $15 otherwise. It seems really neat. Wanting to try to make a game or two in it, but Lua is weird after learning Java/C++.

I love PICO-8, and I even bought a PocketCHIP, because they had some great PICO-8 related advertising. Lua isn't too hard, there are some good PICO-8 related guides out there. I transitioned pretty well from C++. All of the PICO-8 functions are here, and you can learn lua here.

The PocketCHIP advertising seems to be nothing but Pico8… are you sure the PocketCHIP isn't just a Pico8 machine, or is there more stuff on it than that?

It is more than that, it is a full linux computer, and you can install regular PC linux applications. It uses a touch screen instead of a mouse. For example, you can install a program to remotely access your computer, or a program where you can program.

It's really cool. I'm actually using it right now.

It is pretty much just a normal computer, but it is handheld. It even has a full 8 GB of storage (after you update).
It is based of off the C.H.I.P. computer on that website (that costs $9.00 (Yes, nine dollars)), but it is portable and comes with everything you need.

And yes, the advertising only shows PICO-8, but it can do PC linux apps, games, and game emulators.

I was thinking of building an emulator out of a raspberry pi, but this thing looks like the way to go. What kind of Pico-8 projects have you done?
