If you've read the Scratch news, then you can see that the ST have put something in to stop spam-bots. And I can officially declare that it works! I've had to deal with tons less spam today, and all the forums are clean as a whistle! Keep it up ST!

Right where I am it is around 7 am. There are 19 spam topics on ‘Help with Scripts’. Only 2 topics are still the (at current) that are good. In ‘New Scratchers’, there are 6 spam topics. In ‘Questions about Scratch’, there are 3 spam topics. In total, 28 spams. (That will go up though the day too!) That is totally mind boggling. All the spam looks shifty, and have phone numbers, sites and emails. Most are in other languages and have a little broken English. I don't think this should be allowed to go on tomorrow. This is getting a bit dangerous, Scratcher parents will not like it, I can guarantee. A capatcha, or at least something to slow down the spam would work. As I wrote that, 2 more spams were made. 30 spams. In under a few hours. And something tells me that this might not stop. Yesterday, It was the very same stuff. Those spam-bot know how easy the sign-up is. They will come, again and again. Now, I know this post may come across a bit rude and sharp, however I feel a bit helpless that I can only report and wait, while that spam just lurks around attracting views. Lot's of people suggest capatchas, which I think is good. Though some think they would be a bit hard, however you can always refresh them and ask and adult for help.

Yeah, we have a new group of spammers that are really posting fast. We've been having some discussions about it and are going to be making some changes soon.

Thanks for your help reporting these spammers - we need your help to keep them off Scratch.

For now, you can save yourself (and me) some work by just reporting one post of each commercial spammer. I'm just going to click on the “delete all posts” button on them anyway and less reports makes the queue more manageable.

That's handy to know. The Help with scripts forum was literally full of spam this morning and I religously reported each one, which took some time. Knowing that one per user is enough will save time

BTW what was the spammers phone number again? I need some black magic voodoo stuff to get me through the next bit of code

I just found another page full of spam. This is making me angry!

Lol! Just wait a few hours, I expect it will be back

We may want to go back to reporting all posts once we get some kind of auto-block logic in place. But for now, reporting one post per spammer should be fine.

Those magic guys are leaping at the chance! Spam here, spam there, sometimes spam is everywhere! I'm a poet and I didn't even know it!

K, sorry for giving you 7 reports in a row…. But how do you find the rest of the posts? Do you look them up?

Thanks to everyone who's reporting the spam posts for us, I'm seeing the reports most times when I'm just passing through the forums and wouldn't have had time to notice them myself! Keep up the great work
