Remixing: Click “See inside” on a project's page (top right). Make changes. Click “remix” (above the area where the scripts are) and you should have remixed it.
Sharing: Go to “create” (top of screen beside “Discuss”). Make the project. Click “share” (above the area where the scripts are) and you should have a new project. Alternatively, you can still use Scratch 1.4.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunately you can't. You'll have 2 wait till the offline 2.0 editor comes out over the summer.

I don't believe you will ever be able to remix a project in 1.4 if you downloaded it off of the 2.0 site. The reason is the way it's coded. Even if the project was originally programed in 1.4, it has to be converted to flash so it can run online and in 2.0. That's how it worked on the old site too, except you never saw the flash or Java code, and the original Scratch code was just stored invisibly. If you download any project from 2.0, it will automatically be downloaded in .sb2. And I haven't heard of a way to convert that, so I think you're out of luck. If you really need to use the 1.4 editor, I would make a suggestion about downloading as a .sb file in the Suggestions forum. Happy Scratch 2.0-ing!Remixing: Click “See inside” on a project's page (top right). Make changes. Click “remix” (above the area where the scripts are) and you should have remixed it.
