This is a list of bugs that have been reported on the forums.

If you have found a bug, please read this topic to see if it has already been reported. If it has you don't have to post anything, but if you can add to the existing topic then post there. If it hasn't been reported, make a new topic.

Quick fixes guide
If you have another solution that's not here, please tell me.

Right clicks are in the wrong place
→ The quickest fix is to use shift-left-click instead of right click.
→ Toggling fullscreen (F11) might help on ChromeOS.
→ Reloading the project or restarting your browser may fix this, but some users have reported that this does not work.

My project won't save
→ This might just be caused by a bad internet connection, so wait a few minutes and try again.
→ If you have a large amount of data in lists this may cause the project not to save. Try emptying the lists.
→ If nothing else works, download your project so you don't lose your work.

A sprite turned into a pink rectangle
→ Press Ctrl-M twice (does anyone know if this is different on Mac/Linux?) to switch Stage3D off and on again.
→ Reloading the project may also fix this.

A variable keeps coming back when I delete it
→ Make sure there are no blocks that still reference the variable. If Scratch finds a block for a variable that doesn't exist it recreates it.
→ If it's a cloud variable, the server may be out of sync with the project. Go here.

I don't have permission to add someone to my studio
→ The person you are trying to add has not confirmed their email address, so they are not allowed to curate studios.
(technically this isn't a bug, just a badly-worded error message)

Cloud variables aren't changing
→ Cloud variables were recently changed to only allow numbers up to 128 digits, and no non-standard formats like hex or exponentials. You'll have to change your project so it doesn't use long numbers.

My project freezes when I change tabs
→ Toggling fullscreen or leaving and entering the editor may fix this.

Sticky for all bugs relating to a feature

Large topic - may indicate a common recurring bug

Bug is fixed - bugs that are unlikely to return will be removed

Bug is recorded on GitHub - click the icon to go there

Graphical bugs
Bugs that affect the look of sprites or the player

Vector sprites turn pink

Stage3D affects left-right rotation

Sprites get stretched in fullscreen

Stamping does not maintain brightness
Variable watchers grow when resizing the editor

Sound bugs

Can't upload sound

Can't backpack sounds

Script and player bugs
Bugs that make projects not play as they should

Key detection is broken in Edge
Bad collision detection in old projects
Projects don't work on Chromebook
Stage3D doesn’t turn on

Can't use sliders behind transparent parts of costumes

Cloud data bugs

Cloud data glitches (general topic)
Cloud variables can’t be deleted
Cloud data FAQ link is broken

Paint editor bugs
SVGs are not imported correctly
Bitmap lines are aliased while holding shift
Can't fill transparent borders in vector mode
Bitmap selection causes selections to move around unexpectedly

Script editor bugs

Operators show the wrong symbol when duplicated

Other editor bugs

Right clicks are in the wrong place

Editor freezes when switching tabs
Flash crashes in the editor
Can open multiple dialog boxes
Save to local file does not work with special characters
See Inside doesn't work
Offline editor does not load projects

Network error when saving large lists
Can upload projects over the size limit
Pressing delete doesn't always delete things

Animated profile pictures show every frame on top of each other
Can't cancel email address changes

Comment bugs

Projects have blank Scratch Cat thumbnail

Studio bugs

Random dates appearing in studio activity
GIFs are broken
Studio activity that never happened

Other site bugs
Front page rows disappear

Forum bugs

No Last Post date on the forum list

Emojis cut off the rest of the forum post
403/404 errors on forum posts
Last Post dates are wrong

There is the reoccurring one, where all the costumes/sounds of a sprite are reduced to nothing.

Warning: Complicated, and mind blowing.
Zeno's Paradox: I can prove you can't get anywhere. Before you get from where you are to where you wish to go, you first have to go halfway to the endpoint. From there, you go half of the remaining way. And halfway, on and on, but you can never reach your goal, because there will always be the smallest fraction of space you haven't gone through.
I can also prove you can't move. Similar to the above, I will use the same principals to prove you can't move. We already know that to get to your destination, you must first go halfway. In addition, before you get to the halfway point, you must first go halfway to the halfway point. And then before you get there, you must first go halfway. And on and on, you get smaller and smaller fractions of space you must first travel to. You can never move away from where you are.

I think it's been fixed but it might come back again, I've done it under Sprite Bugs.

I believe there was an older one, but we assumed that most of those old bugs were fixed already.

There are a few that never really got started. There was also a big one a long time ago, but I think it was by Superdoggy who is no longer active.

That's not spam. It translates as “In the editor, an error with the selection in raster mode” - which appears to be a bug report. However, without more information, I don't think there is much we can do with it.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I noticed that many of the links provided do not really show a clear answer, or you have to look through several pages in order to find the solution. Would it be possible to make the next post down be something like showing solutions for the bugs/glitches if there is one?
Just for the simple ones, of course. Things like right click being off.

Yes, that would help. I'd like it to link to topics that explain the solution, but they're hard to find so most of them are jsut the first topic I could find about the bug.

I'll probably make a section for solutions to common bugs but I don't have time to do it tonight.
