Wow! I think now if somone wants to make a really simple project they can do it all in the GUI….
i hope this means that the work is going faster than usual and the 3.0 beta will be out in a few mounths

Don't worry, this is just temporary for another test next week.
You can always check out the current state of the build by following the instructions in the README for the GUI: https://github.com/LLK/scratch-gui

This bug has been fixed, which is probably a good thing, but unfortunately a lot of people use it as a feature (partly my fault, but who could blame them when it's the only way to type their own language) which means their projects will become illegible, like this. Ideally there should be some way for projects to be automatically converted to use the proper codepoints in 3.0.

Maybe it will work later. It can't run on IE and that is an important browser to support…Lol rip… Page cannot be displayed message….lol ok Since my switch is here… Scratch 3.0 on the switch test coming up…

Not usually. I pull it up in IE occasionally mainly to see if it works on it yet. But a lot of people do, so it needs to be supported.Wait, are you saying that you use Internet Explorer?Maybe it will work later. That's not how it works. Microsoft is trying hard to create a browser that's good. Their newest invention – the Edge browser – is actually decent. I wouldn't choose to use it, but it's now compliant with most web standards and supports most features. So the problem isn't a lack of effort from Microsoft. Maybe the ST should ignore IE and put the pressure on microsoft to make it work
The issue is that many users (particularly schools and organizations) are still using older versions of IE. (IE 8 and below are especially bad). There is nothing Microsoft can do to fix these problems, because IE doesn't have an auto-updating service built in.
If you want to put pressure on anybody, you would have to change the behavior of users. But not many people use old versions of IE by choice. They either are not good enough with technology to know how to switch browsers (not the target audience of Scratch) or they are stuck using an older browser for some external reason.
tl;dr: Not supporting IE isn't helpful.

DeleteThisAcount, it's probably expanding support, and in the finish product, it might work.
Also PullJosh thanks for the post/explanation.
