After the first few, I'd consider all the other io games to be knockoffs, but afaik, slither is the second io game to become very popular. Other than the way that you play, die, and get to choose a new name, as well as the io ending and the leaderboard, there is no resemblance between it and agar. This topic DESPERATELY needs a rename.

Yes, I think the only way it would be a “knockoff” is if it's a modded or almost the same, but snakes running into each other is not similar. Also, just because they have the same subdomain, doesn't mean they are a knockoff. (Or every .com would be considered “knockoffs.”)

The most I've ever gotten on slither.io is a bit more than 8K, and 9th or 10th position on the leaderboard.

Can you really call it a “knockoff” anymore? Sure they have the same TLD (“.io”) but there's countless of other .io games.

Slither.io does have a consume-and-expand concept similar to agar.io, but isn't a “knock-off” or “rip-off.”

I have a plush slither.io worm and I love it more than anything. I remember sneaking it into my purse when I went to work. No regrets.

it's not a knockoff, agar.io just created a new genre for games, where you eat other players and kill said players.
