Well, I've got something else to post here now
A month ago I had ordered the sleeping Jyushimatsu plush and was waiting for a very, very, very long time. (I mean, it was shipped from Japan so it's justified.) It finally came in the mail yesterday, and the guy had wrapped it in plastic wrap, bubble wrap, and like five sheets of newspaper. Then it turns out the guy had sent me the wrong one (Karamatsu). But I ain't even mad, because now I have this large stuffed sleeping Karamatsu and he's adorable and I love him. Besides, I'm probably gonna wait until Christmas and get the Reindeer Jyushimatsu instead. It's my favorite design to come out of Osomatsu-san so when I heard there was being a plushie made, I practically screamed. So yeah that's my “story”I guess?

I'm still up for talking, though I should stress again that I'm only knowledgeable on Osomatsu-san and pieces of Osomatsu-kun from the first three episodes I've seen of it.

An ongoing Iyami arc so that they can give a little something to all Iyami lovers. I mean, for whatever reason, people seem to hate Iyami; honestly I see it as being an “Americans Hate Tingle” sort of situation but enh. An Iyami arc.
Tougou, maybe. The only downside would be publicising this character's terrible ship more.
Robomatsu from that one 1966 episode. Oh my gosh that would be so amazing. Iyami dogs HIM out of the closet and he once again springs to life to wreak havoc!

Well, since I have now completed Osomatsu-san, it's time for a retrospective. There are many issues I have with the series, but many things I enjoyed too. To get them out of the way, I'll start with the things I DIDN'T like. Take note: I am a huge fan of the source material so there will be bias.
-F6. I can't stand F6. Although I'm pretty certain it's supposed to be ironic, I don't appreciate its humor very much and the segments are very annoying. I actually do like the F6 version of Hatabou, but of course he gets no prominence whatsoever. Not to mention it's the only version of Iyami I despise. He's just France from Hetalia. That's probably the joke because Iyami is supposed to be French, but that's not a very amusing visual joke and it looks absolutely nothing like the original character. At least the other ones have some form of resemblance. So yeah, F6, not a hit.
-Girlymatsus. I don't really have anything to complain regarding the Girlymatsus, I was just never a fan of the segments. I don't find them very funny and those slots could've been filled with something else.
-Totoko. Even in the source material, I was never a big fan of Totoko. Osomatsu-san, though, pushes all of her unlikeable traits even further to an unbearable level. She's very egocentric, but not in an entertaining or endearing way like Karamatsu or Iyami. She's egocentric in a way that is prissy, annoying, and unlikeable. She only ever talks about how everyone thinks she is so beautiful. I would be fine with a character written like this if she was funny and enjoyable, but she isn't. Dare I compare her with Misa from Death Note, but worse? Probably.
-Side characters are pushed to…well, the side. In Osomatsu-kun, even during eras when Iyami takes center stage, the characters all seemed to be on equal footing. This series is more of the sextuplets all the time. I get that it's doing so to develop them, but some segments could've been reserved for the side characters. Yes, we have a few segments dedicated to Hatabou, or Chibita, or Totoko, or whoever. But I want them to be seen more as equals like in the older adaptations, and I want them to actually interact with the sextuplets more.
-This is more of a biased nitpick, but not enough Iyami and Chibita mischief. Yes, I know everyone's grown up now and they can't really be “those naughty little sextuplets!” anymore. But still, I want Iyami and Chibita to have more interaction. They are the dynamic duo after all. I actually think Chibita has had more interactions with Karamatsu than he has with his own best friend!
-For lack of a better term, deterioration. The first few episodes actually got me to laugh. It's actually very rare for a piece of media to make me actually laugh out loud, and this managed to do it. However, the show gets less and less funny and it's to the point where I'm watching it strictly because I'm an Akatsuka fan and my favorite characters are in it. But I get it, writing comedy is harder than it seems, and humor varies with everyone!
With all the negativity out of the way, here's all the things I DID like.
-Like I mentioned before, it has made me laugh.
-“Jyushimatsu Falls in Love” made me cry. Congratulations, Osomatsu-san, making me cry over a comedy anime again.
-Some AU designs I just love. I LOVE THE Christmas zombies, ESPECIALLY Reindeer Jyushimatsu. That's my favorite design in the entire show! I also love a lot of other Jyushimatsu outfits and I actually do like the “Oily Boys” Chibita. And that's actually from F6 of all things!
-Kamimatsu and Akumatsu are sorta like Fakematsus from Osomatsu-kun. Cool!
-The animation is pleasant.
-Tidbits Collection has the funniest skits. I like fast paced sketch comedy, so I hope for more episodes like this if it gets picked up for another season. Also, Jyushimatsu Matsuri, which is basically Tidbits Collection: Jyushimatsu Edition.
-There are very fun episodes and segments like Iyami Kart, Hatabou's Birthday, the Iyametal episode, the skit where Choromatsu can't sleep, and the quiz show segment, to name a few.
-Comebacks of forgotten and really obscure side characters like Esper Nyanko and Shonosuke. Shonosuke was actually a very funny character in the show. I feel like there wasn't nearly enough Esper Nyanko, though. He only has one episode when he talks and he barely shows up after that. He's in a lot of merchandise and promo art, so he's clearly popular enough!
-Adaptations of old manga stories like Chibita and the Flower Fairy and Esper Nyanko.
-Background cameos of Beshi, Kemunpasu, Rerere no Ojisan, and the mole man!
-Although there isn't as much of him as I would like, every Iyami moment made me smile!
-Jyushimatsu is amazing.
-Chibita's voice is EXTREMELY reminiscent of his 80s voice. It's exactly how I'd imagine him to sound at his age. Actually, all of the voice actors for the side characters did an excellent job!

The tension on whether a season two is gonna come out or not is frustrating. I mean, it's so extremely popular that it's bound to happen. Then again, I'm getting the feeling that it's still intended to be a one-off and all of the marketing is being stretched out as long as possible before that's found out.
Personally, I have very mixed thoughts toward a second season. As cool as any full-time continuation would be, the second cour of the first season was a major downgrade and that could apply to any potential further episodes if we're unlucky. I just really don't want a sophomore slump.
Also, in other news, the marketing in Japan is still growing with a Pokemon Go knock-off coming out at some point this year.
I hope all of this doesn't overshadow Tensai Bakabon's 50th anniversary. I'm personally not a fan of Akatsuka-san's works, but it'd be tragic for something so recent and radically changed from the source material to get more attention than a beloved classic on its milestone birthday.

Let's not forget the OTHER Akatsuka work celebrating his 50th anniversary this year too! We've gotten small little fanservices (updates get posted on koredeiinoda.net if you're curious) but a reboot would make me so happy. Moretsu Ataro has been having those little parody shorts, so I'm curious if the fourth and final short will reveal any good news. But yes, Osomatsu-san needs to be given some rest. We bought the DVDs, the toys, the shirts. Now give Bakabon and Ataro a little love, Fujio-Pro!
And the lack of Iyami plushies is disgusting.
