Does this have the servers.txt built in, or will it need it at all. I suppose I could check myself…Will 1.4 still be downloadable?

Also…
Scratch 1.4 can use a USB or built-in camera (optional).
Wut? I didn't know you could use a camera on Scratch 1.4… Is it for the mic?

Hmm, because projects were separated between the old site and this site I was uploading a copy of the same project on both sites, will this mean I'm going to end up with twice as much projects when it transitions?

No, probably just the ones here if they have the same names. Hmm, because projects were separated between the old site and this site I was uploading a copy of the same project on both sites, will this mean I'm going to end up with twice as much projects when it transitions?

Do you have a way to do it for all of those, that, theoretically, could work, or is there some of it you're just not going to try to transfer because it would be too hard?Couldn't you just add both sites together? I would be fine with duplicate projects, studios, etc with their own stats and URL.
Lightnin said that would get really hairy… but they said they would keep them if buglessly possible!
Precisely! We'd love to do it - and I know it sounds really easy. But it *really* isn't. Sayamindu will be running his brain at high RPMs just to get the migration to work successfully - it takes his super fast computer like a day and half just to do all the calculations. After that, he'll do his best to keep the love its, studios, and comments. But I'm afraid we can't promise we'll be able to do it.

Moved over, perhaps? I'm pretty sure they said many of the ones from 1.4 are outdated or irrelevent, so they're not keeping them…

Oh - once this site becomes scratch.mit.edu, you won't need a servers.txt file to share to it - it'll just automagically be the default.

If you did use a servers.txt to help test uploading from 1.4 on the beta site, you'll need to remove it after we release (on Thursday.)

Will the cloud data make the transition? When we launch on May 9, projects you created on this Beta website will remain in Scratch 2.0. However, other things such as studios, comments, and views, may not make the transition. We are trying to find a way to keep these things, but it will be very challenging and we cannot give a definite answer until we launch Scratch 2.0 on May 9.
All your stuff from Scratch 1.4 including projects, galleries, comments, and views will be moved to Scratch 2.0.
Scratch on!

Why not merge all the old site stuff to the beta site, then change the domain from beta.scratch.mit.edu to scratch.mit.edu
