Unrelated remixes
I don't think you understand the psychology of why people make these unrelated remixes. If they shared the project the usual way, they will most likely get little to no attention at all, so having the project show up on a remix tree of a featured project would be the best bet at getting attention. If they are already popular enough to get a lot of attention on their projects, it would make absolutely no sense for them to clickbait in someone else's remix tree. […]
On the other hand, if you do an unrelated remix and everybody loves it, you could have just shared it the usual way and not have to be part of somebody else's remix tree.. When people remix your unrelated project, you get no credit for it. Credit goes to the original.

To put it in basic; they're using the remix as a advertisement. The project they have has to do nothing with the original remixed project.

I am going to be honest and personally say that i do make unrelated remixes sometimes, but only because i don't code that well.

SO? IDK what the issue is. It's not like there taking credit for someone elses work. It may be a bit pointless but it's no that bad IMOSo whats the big deal. As long as they change something a remix is fine. Better then not changing anything.
Yes but it's a completely different project that is no way related to the original project in any way whatsoever (a project that has been already created and put in place of the original).

*sigh* Here, read this: ._.
I think OP was trying to say that these “unrelated remixes” are NOT “much better than the original project”, but instead the remix and the original project are two entirely different things. Say that there's a platformer game that was featured, and the first remix was a dress-up game that has NOTHING to do with the original game, but it still gets a lot of attention because it's at the top of the “remixes” list and actually looks unique compared to the sea of other 5-second remixes.

What's your point?
The point is that nobody is going to click on a remix BEFORE they view the original project, so a remix can NEVER take a view away from the original project.

Good point… Idk why I haven't thought of that.
So basically speaking there's nothing wrong with it.

I saw a remix of a featured project and all it was, was a picture of the word “hi”. The description said, “I wanted to remix a popular project.” So all I did was report it because of that.
