Tips on reducing lag in my project?

Zparx wrote:

As simple as the title. It's not too noticeable with a good computer, but on one of my games it's just laggy enough to surpass my liking.. Not too laggy, but it's not as smooth as I know it can get with the proper scripting. Are there any general tips for reducing lag?

Here's a link to the project in specific
Simplification is key here. Make sure you don't have any useless content you didn't use..

Tips on reducing lag in my project?

My project “Adventure Game” is EXTREMELY laggy on my Chromebook, but it doesn't lag very much on a desktop. It lagged only a little bit on the library desktops or Dad's computer. My Chromebook is only about 2 years old. I really don't want to delete any stickmans, scripts, sprites, or backdrops. It's only about 149 assets, I think. I want to play it on my Chromebook in my bed on the weekend. Even the music lags.

Hi!

If you want help, it would probably be best to start your own thread, instead of posting on an old one - the creator of this one is probably not looking for help any more.

Anyway, I took a look at your project, and at first glance, it appears that the lag is caused by the number of scripts running at a time, and the high number of clones at one time. I would recommend trying to consolidate your scripts and removing the unnecessary ones, as well as limiting clones, if possible, to reduce lag.
