No.Maybe be more helpful than that?

Changing URL's will just result in confusion, I think that once a URL is set that it should be permanently.

It would be a 404 error and move to another link. That's not what I meant. I was talking about the old URLs of projects that use named URLs. If you always base the URL on the current title, then any existing link to a project will break if the project is ever renamed. The old projects have the same url, but newer ones have the new applied one.-snip-What then? I don't support being able to get rid of a past URL for a project - there's a reason why Scratch still supports the old 1.4-style URLs with the creator's name in them.
No.

It wouldn't be as much of a problem if the link wasn't automatically based on the title, but ideally links should be permanent as long as the page exists.

Yeah, but then every project url would be https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/USERNAME/untitled/No.Maybe be more helpful than that?

So don't make the URL the same as the title.Changing URL's will just result in confusion, I think that once a URL is set that it should be permanently.Yeah, but then every project url would be https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/USERNAME/untitled/

This is how I think it would work best:
- All projects have a numeric URL which is used when they are created (old projects will need one anyway, so new ones might as well have one too).
- When a project is shared, it asks the creator to choose a custom URL. This defaults to the project title but can be changed. There is a warning that it can't be changed again once it is set.
- Existing shared projects can choose a custom URL whenever they like.
- All numeric URLs would continue to work as redirects.
I don't support any system where links aren't permanent, and it's unlikely the ST ever will either. The only other option is to use the first custom title the user gives the project, but in my experience titles change a lot while the project is in development.

Why can't we change the bot filter? Okay, since everyone is discussing the url, I'll go with that…
I would like an ID system similar to that of YouTube; just a change, and little less hassle than making everything user-specific.

I'm willing to bet 10 million dollars there are projects out there with the same name, so how would this work? I know a single person can not have projects with the same name, but others most likely do. So what would happen then?
