hey everyone here, i have noticed some significant problems with the forum youtube page and whether it's effective or not.so i am thinking of making a way to share videos on scratch.

i know this kind of thing has already been done before, but i intend to actually pay attention to it and not let it collapse.

what i'd like help with is making a converter from mp4 to sb2 (and it may be possible to export as individual frames and add a project.json)

Technical novelties aside, this sounds like a bad idea as far as use of server resources go..

i coudl agree if that was a livestream, but other than a lot of costumes it's shorter than your average project.

if you still disagree, let me know and i might shut the project down

That's a big if, seeing as the naive encoding would require 1800 costumes per minute.

Yeah, 2 minutes would probably be the on the high side, and you'd have to use tosh.

a music video 3 minutes and 32 seconds long took 20 seconds to load on a *chromebook*.

this might not be as big a waste as it seems.

it would be, but imagine how many lists and scripts there would be. there would bee too much lag.
plus, i think the costumes may be easier to automate.

Costumes would take a lot longer.

in my opinion, no.

if you hand-did it, you could just screenshot and import. it would take longer to do one frame with the pen than it would to do the whole vid with costumes.

if you automated it, then the computer could just export individual frames and there would be a lot less lag. (keep in mind someone already did this).

hmm, okay, i think that ffmpeg will do the job.
