Scratch 3.0
Hey folks, let's please try a few things in this long (rapidly approaching 100 pages!) thread:
- This is a place to discuss development of Scratch 3.0. Discussion, questions, and reports of bugs are most appreciated, but as others have mentioned it would be best for feature requests to be listed in the Suggestions forum.
- If someone gets off topic or spams please just ignore it OR if it's really blatant, report the post. Yelling at each other only makes things worse.
- Be excellent to each other. Please remember to follow the Community Guidelines. Disrespectful and unconstructive comments will be reported. That doesn't mean that people always need to agree, but it does mean that everyone should try their best to respect each other and opposing viewpoints.

Just forget about the last few pages.
I'm really sorry for accidentally bringing in the spam.
This topic is about discussing scratch 3.0's development not to argue about spam (or spam)
The devs really want the bugs fixed spamming here will just stop that and probably delay scratch 3.0.
Any new fetures in the GUI that you have found?

I'm not sure if this was intentional, but sprites can freely move off-screen, which stops some pen projects from breaking.

What I do for pen projects is use a really big (SVG) sprite I found a while ago in someone else's project (grab it if you want, it's not that hard to make anyways). I think I heard that they were going to add options for the sprite to fence or go offscreen, not sure though, can someone confirm?Just forget about the last few pages.

Yup! We call that feature in Scratch 1.X and 2.X the “motion fence”. We will have that same feature in 3.0 as well, we just haven't implemented it yet. We are also exploring the idea of adding new “fence modes” that might allow you to have different behaviors (like going off screen or even “wrapping” from one side of the screen to the other).

Just after I posted, hehe. Thanks for confirming and this sounds great! This will make a lot of projects much easier to make, especially pen projects.I'm not sure if this was intentional, but sprites can freely move off-screen, which stops some pen projects from breaking.

Maybe it's already been said (I'm not going to read nearly 100 pages right now), but why is the text so tiny and the blocks so huge?

The default zoom level is nearly twice as high as in 2.0, so there's going to be a lot more scrolling going on. If you zoom out to the same height as the old blocks, the text becomes nearly unreadable.
It could be worse though:

that is just zoomed out be one level - I had to zoom out by 4 to get to the same size as 2.0 blocks.
Maybe I'm just being picky (scrolling isn't too bad), but I don't get why there needs to be so much padding.

Also, I found a bug: clones don't inherit pen colour from their parents. It can be seen in this project, where the drips and spray will always be the default blue regardless of the main paint colour.
