The fact that scratchblocks aren't working with IE has kept me away from the forums for a couple of days. Now all I seem to get when I go into a topic is

To add insult to injury if I log in on another account it works fine. This account doesn't though. Someone trying to tell me something?

Oh my goodness you're not the only one with the problem!!!!

If you notice, I only use my test account on the forums, because I literally can't use my main account. I just get 500 errors and cannot view a single page of the forums on my main account. Also, I used to use IE, so it could be a related problem, but I tried 3 browsers and I couldn't get it to work so made this test account.

Definitely something corrupt with the account. Just created this user because the drmcw account is now as useful as a chocolate teapot. The account cannot access any forum posts, neither can it create cloud variables. It can still make projects but that's about it.

Ok so far there are 3 known accounts affected by this;

1. Turkey3
   
   
2. DadOfMrLog
   
   
3. drmcw
   
   

Anyone else?

Appreciate someone from the ST checking this as the implication is that there's a bug corrupting something somewhere.

Started about three days ago for me (@DadOfMrLog)…
We can see the main discussion page (with the list of forums), as well as the list of topic headers in each forum. But we can't see the actual topics or posts.

It seems to be quite possible to start a new topic with this problem - at least, I have no problem seeing the page to create a topic, with the text box, and button to post, etc. I haven't actually tried posting such a new topic, but I'm assuming that will work. It's just reading any existing topic/post that gives error 500

You can still post new topics with this problem, but cannot view them after being posted. Take it from my word since (you know) I was first to have this.

Also, the issue occurred to me the same day the forum topic follow button came out… Interesting.

@DadOfMrLog, @drmcw, and me (@turkey3) all have posts on this topic in out alt accounts due to this issue.

Though these aren't random but consistent.

Seems like the whole scratch site is unstable right now…….. If you check the stats page, you will notice the scratch project creators has gone up significantly… Sheesh! k9lego.

I just got a 500 error when posting, I hope this does not start happening to me!

I can't use the forums, and it's hard to log in with my test and alt accounts! So I'll have to use this for now.

I'm back again! It comes and goes. Scary! I don't want to stop using this account, I just got 1000 posts!

Unfortunately it's not temporary. You got my hopes up that there was a fix but its still gives me 500 Error. Glad yours was just a blip.

Few! Seems to work fine now.

Thanks everyone for reporting this! The error was in the forum software, in the piece that tracks the topics you've viewed. The users experiencing this error all have viewed 5120 topics, at which point the bug kicks in.

I've fixed it so that it will work correctly after we deploy tomorrow. However the way it's supposed to work is that all your viewed topics get reset once you've viewed 5120 topics. This will only affect the “New posts” message next to threads, which you can see from the main forum pages.

Great news. That's a small price to pay to get the account back.
