Stock Market Simulator
UPDATE:
-Stock graphs are fixed
-Faster simulation and auto time
-Company details show stock gains next to stock value
-More rounding fixes (still glitches somehow)
-Aligned company info on Data page
-New “Sell All” button added, which you can use to sell every share you have
Ever wanted to strike it rich? Don't want to risk losing everything you have? Well, you're in for a treat! I have spent a great deal of time creating a well-balanced Stock Market simulator in Scratch.
How To Play
You start out with $20000, and you must spend it on buying “stock”, which is basically ownership of a company. There are 48 randomly generated companies to start with, each with a different company value and stock price. You buy this stock in “shares”, which can vary from time to time because the value of the company changes. When the stock market is good, the value of those shares increases. When it's bad, they decrease.
You make profit off the stock by selling them after their value has exceeded the value you originally bought the stock.
When you start out, you will be shown a screen like this:

To buy stock from a company, click on the grey square next to the company name.
All the information about the company is shown, including volume, shares invested, total investment, stock price and gain, and a graph of stock changes over time. Next to the graph there will be two buttons, one for buying and one for selling stock. To buy stock, you need to have enough money for at least one share, and the total investment after the transaction must be equal to or less than the volume (or total worth) of the company. Once you've purchased stock, you click on the Back button and you can then exchange more stock or finish by clicking the Done button.
After clicking Done, the project will simulate stock variation and calculate your equity and gains.
It shows how much money you have to spend, how much you've invested with, the total equity of your investment, as well as how much money you gained or lost (with a percentage). A graph will be rendered showing your total equity over time. At the bottom, you can click on Data to view the stock information of the companies you invested in. You can also choose to sell all your shares back to the companies to get your money back (this was made to be faster than selling stock back to individual companies). Click done to go back to the stock market page and resume your exchange of stock.

Tips
Try not to buy too many high-value stocks. If the market crashes, they go down a lot more than the smaller stocks. Keep a good balance of shares among different stock values.
Never assume the stock market is good on every other day. It is not uncommon for the stock market to be in decline for several days or weeks before finally regaining some. The lower the stock prices are, the better price they are for buying.
Happy buying!
