How do you get so good at Scratch?
How do you get so good at Scratch? For example, on some games, I click on see inside and the coding looks so, so, so hard. I just become baffled. How do you do it? Also, are there any mentoring programmes on Scratch?

Honestly, just lots of practice. You start with easy projects, stuff you know, and keep learning new things. Eventually, the stuff you learn becomes harder and harder until you can look at a project with bazillions of scripts and strange, advanced coding and you'll understand a lot of it.
As for mentoring programs, there was a very popular one a while ago, but there haven't been any posts on it in months. There are probably some smaller ones scattered about, if you look for them, and there are plenty of people around who would be willing to mentor you, if you ask.
I'm basically always on, you're more than welcome to come chat if you need help.
Admittedly, I'm not quite as experienced yet as I'd like to be, but I like to think that I have a pretty good grasp on things.

Each time you solve a coding problem yourself, it makes it easier for you to recognize someone else's solution in their code. How do you get so good at Scratch? At least three years of constant failure until you have practiced enough.
Knowing what everything does is pretty important, so right-clicking on a block and getting the help menu can teach you about any block you are confused with. From that point, it is all about developing techniques. This is where studying other Scratchers' work is important, but I do know what it's like to be overwhelmed by it all. I developed my style of coding independently on the offline editor, so I often have difficulty understanding other people's scripts.
In all, once you know what everything does, just practice a heck of a lot. Eventually, you will develop skills!

It matter what type of “game” your making like, a tycoon, fighting, simulator. It takes time, but if you can't get it done all my yourself just make a collaboration. Over the days you get better and better.Just be patient.

In my experience, you'll be able to understand your own code of equal size and complexity better than someone else's code. Depending on your grade level, pay attention in math class or just google how to do certain things. Lots of coding is math and reasoning. Scratch is great for developing those skills, so make to sure to keep on using it. When you feel comfortable enough to do so, try learning a programming language because you can make larger projects with things like Java (I recommend the Eclipse IDE) due to lag in the Scratch editor with huge amounts of code.
In short just get good at math, make sure to get plenty of experience, and make to sure ask if you can't figure something out, we learn that way!

Anyway, math does have a lot to do with it, also knowledge of how scratch interperets the code. Try experimenting with lists and variables as well as main loops.

practice, keep doing what you do. if you want to make something cool, try to do so. if you fail, that's okay.

How do you get so good at Scratch?
To get good at Scratch, just keep practicing. It's like everything else in life, isn't it?
Also it may require some knowledge of trigonometry for some things but not many!
Try to figure out what blocks do, try to mess around with Custom Blocks a bit, and use lots of Variables. Doing that is probably the easiest way to figure out other peoples' code.

To get better at Scratch, you have to learn to do a certain skill, or pursue your talents. The coding is the main part of it.
The best way to be an expert on the Scratch if you are focused on improving your coding skills is whenever you have an idea for a game, or a platformer, check the Scratch wiki for complete, detailed tutorials on programming psychics for games! That will help you make games or projects that have good coding put into them.
If you are wanting to make your projects noticed in the community, the best way is to display your talents, or develop your own talents that others will enjoy (animating, drawing) In this case I think you want to be an expert at coding projects, which is a good path to go. However coding projects takes a lot of effort and work if you don't have experience with other programming languages. Practice at your programming skills, and soon they will get better and improve over time.

How do you get so good at Scratch?
I'm going to target this post at the programming part, since you specifically said, “on some games, I click on see inside and the coding looks so, so, so hard. I just become baffled.”
Well, the simple answer is to learn Scratch, and more generally, programming.
The most important part of learning to program is learning techniques you can use to program. That could mean deciding to figure out how clones work and what you can do with them, learning to modularize your code into separate basic sprites, understanding custom blocks and their recursive abilities, trying to apply various other tricks you've learned from other programming languages in Scratch, or even just going through and experimenting with each block in the plentiful block palette.. as long as you're trying something new, you're learning.
I'd also like to suggest you actually take time to make projects. The more time you spend making projects, generally, the more you'll discover or learn (though don't push yourself too far!). Practice makes perfect, in the sense that practice will often both lead you to more methods of programming and improve techniques you've already gotten. So is a better phrase practice results in improvement..?
(However, practice doesn't always seem to teach you things; you'll sometimes – even often, for some – take time to write a project and not end up really learning anything new. That's fine, and normal; you're sure to discover new tricks eventually.)
Actually, really, this all applies to learning just about anything. Math? There'll be times when you're going through you're homework, inspiration strikes, and you figure out a new trick to speed up solving a specific kind of problem. Art, especially in a limited environment, like a drawing program, such as Scratch? You're likely to discover a new way to draw things, maybe another kind of shading, or a trick in your drawing program of choice, such as a symmetrical spiral tool. And other people have made tutorials to help you with all of these things, and just about anything else; they want to share what they've figured out or learned as much as you might!
TL;DR Learn new things, and use them while making projects, so you can improve them (and maybe discover more new things while you're at it).

How do you get so good at Scratch?
It is not just about coding skills. art and ideas are also used. Becoming good at scratch happens over time. I used to be terrible, but I am not that bad and I don't know why.
