I know how you feel. That's why I think the Scratch Team should come up with a better way of communication on Scratch… Real-time chat! So you don't have 40-minute short conversations because you have to refresh the page. This will help many scratchers wanting to do collaborations or just simply see how someone is doing. This is NOT private chat. Just instant updating.

NOTE: Don't suggest a website off of Scratch unless the ST(Scratch Team) says it is okay with them to talk there. Otherwise from what I can tell it is against the community guidelines because it is un-moderated or not moderated in the way that the ST would like.

Please say anything that will support this idea or if you have any questions. Thank you.

i've had multiple conversations with people in comments when we were both online and it was not hard

No support, becausing you can just commenting and reload the page. Its not that hard.

Use Discord. A whole lot easier and it doesn't have to be moderated by the Scratch Team.

Support for this, it could be as simple as making comments appear in real time so you don't have to refresh the page, but they are still public and moderatable.

That looks a lot like an unmoderated chat to me (well, channels can have their own moderators but they don't have to), which is exactly the thing this suggestion is trying to avoid.
