Now lets just say you were playing a game were the screen is pitch black but wherever the player goes you can see how do i do that in scratch.

Have a sprite that is black apart from a transparent area that represents what the player sees.

It means that i posted my response when already @drmcw post was published.

if u want a circle with everything black, do this:

NOTE u need costume light to be fully black with a transparent circle in the middle. Also, costume blank needs to be completely transparent
