when i open my project on this machine, the screen is all black

You have not shared your project so I can't see it.

It was shared, I watched him share it. It must be yet another problem. So many problems today!

Okay, the project has been shared now. Note that it shows up correctly on other machines. But on the Chromebook identified above, it shows up mostly black with some outlines of sprites barely visible.

Its just so wierd because I just searched the project on my other profile Monjakey on the same computer and it worked but on HHH1 it never has

I highly doubt a change in account will help the problem, considering the project player would use almost identical code for the viewing of the project.

All of the above are able to view the project fine.

I think what is happening is that when the project is edited on the problem machine it creates a mostly black thumbnail after which the project previews as blank on all machines. However, once edited on another machine the preview thumbnail gets remade and the project looks fine on all machines. But I think the project will still play as a mostly blank image on the problem machine.

The problem machine is a Samsung Chromebook, I'm not sure which model, I'll check tomorrow when we run our next club session. I'll try to get a screen grab as well.

The machine this project shows up blank on is a Samsung series 3 Chromebook model XE 303C12.

I've had experienced a slight portion of the bug, whereby I am able to save the project prior to sharing, but once shared, displays a blank black screen.

My fix was to re-open the project editor, drag out a script and place it back, get the desired thumbnail, then save the project. I have never encountered the project refusing to play, though.

Problem solved. The account had been set (probably inadvertently) to play projects using the beta player. Apparently the beta player can't play projects correctly on the Samsung series 3 yet.

I thought that was the problem. It's way too buggy on all machines to use reliably for now.
