I think that there should be an alert (comment-style) when a forum thread that we're following is closed or deleted by the Scratch Team.

It would show in Scratchers' Scratch inboxes.

Please read my signature! It might explain some lingo that I used in my post or comment. However, not all of it shows, so you have to highlight the entire bottom of the post, from “Please read my signature!” to where it says report, and copy and paste in into a new sheet or tab or whatever.
I can't decide my signature between:
1. I'm a grammar stickler, and my pet peeve is when people use good as an adverb.
2. I have lots of [creativity]original ideas[/creativity]. [creativity]This[/creativity] is one of those ideas.
3. If I used this symbol: ⸮ in my comment, please look it up before doing anything else.
4. {Minot, North Dakota/Donald Trump parodies} “WE'RE GONNA BUILD A DAM AND MAKE CANADA PAY FOR IT!” “When Canada sends its water, they’re not sending their best drinking water…They’re bringing sleet. They’re bringing floods. The water's toxic.” (It's just a joke that I came up with.)
5. One should make his/her signature text small; that way (s)he can cram more text into the signature.
6. New [scratchblocks] idea each week! (Thanks to Bright-Idea (Read her signature.) for inspiration/the general idea.) Here's the archive:

I think that there should be an alert (comment-style) when a forum thread that we're following is closed or deleted by the Scratch Team.

By following threads, I think a lot of Scratchers are already paying close attention to what's happening in them. There is usually a clear sign that a forum thread's been closed that they notice and work out for themselves.

Agreed, however I do support a notification.

Same here. But, there should be an algorithm whereby if you reported it to be closed or pressed the close button, you didn't get a notification because it could be annoying if you did. Also, the notification should be sent out to all the Scratchers who are following the discussion through the ‘Follow Discussion’ button.

Oh sorry. I guess I didn't quite read your post right. Did you really need to snip that quote?

It wasn't your fault; I just didn't put it in there. Also, about snipping that quote, I didn't want people complaining about it 6-10 quotes later.

I always leave snipping until between 6-8 quotes, depending on how large the quotes are.

No support. Alerts are typically warnings for when a Scratcher does something against the rules. When a forum thread gets closed, it isn't always for a bad reason. Maybe it was a duplicate or the owner wanted it closed.

I was thinking of having it more like comment-style, including showing up in comments but not alerts.

I don't think the creator of this thread meant alerts like you are thinking of, I think they just mean regular messages. Which is why I support this!

Well, that might have just been the term they decided to use for the message that Scratchers would receive.

No support. If it's been closed, it is probable that it has had little activity. Also, I think that it would get annoying after a while, I follow lots of threads. Also, as has been previously mentioned, if you really did not want it to be closed, you would notice it quickly, and request that it would be reopened within seconds.
