Backdrop panning and zoom?

So I was thinking that it would be super helpful for some projects if it was possible to zoom in and pan on the backdrop, the sprites would be locked to the backdrop, not the screen. The blocks could look a little like this and only be visible if in the screen for the backdrop:

zoomin% category=lookszoomout% category=lookspanup category=motion

there could be a full screen editor to help with higher resolution backdrop making. I don't know how difficult this would be to make, but i feel this would be very easy to use.

I don't really support this, because New Scratches might find it confusing (especially when the sprites didn't move with the background) and I'm not really sure how much it would be used.

Scrolling did exist in Alpha versions of Scratch 2.0, but it was removed for unknown reasons. [Source]

I don't see how this would be any more or less confusing than the
setsizeto%
block

Just make scroller blocks, and change the size of those

This is a very old discussion, so the ‘'pan’' block has been deleted.

Backdrop panning and zoom?

Just make a sprite that is a background instead of using the stage, and then put these scripts:

definesetzoomtozoom%setzoom percentagetozoomsetsizetozoomdefinezoomoutbyzoom%setzoomtozoompercentage-zoomdefinezoominbyzoom%setzoomtozoompercentage+zoom

Also necropost is allowed in suggestions.
