Jack sighed, crossing his arms. Or well, one arm. He was sitting in the bleachers, alone, as everyone else played some extremely simple game. A few kids who had gotten out congregated near the other bleachers. Typical. No one was gonna stick around the kid with the broken arm.
Catching his attention, Mark—his best friend for a year so far—bounded over, collapsing beside Jack. “What's up, cripple?” A grin broke across his face as Jack snorted at the term, rolling his eyes. “Oh, hush.” There was a momentary pause. “Can I just ask, how did ya get out so easy? They're-” he motioned to the small group of kids across the gym, “-just lazy, but yer not. Explain yerself, mister.”
Mark's grin faded to one which was more sheepish, even guilty. “I uh- well, you look really, how do I say it? Lonely? And I just wanna cheer you up..” Trailing off, he started to mess with his fingers. A soft laugh made him look up, blinking. “What?”
A hand pressed against his shoulder, and Jack was grinning at him, beaming. “Ah, yer a dork.” He seemed to move towards Mark (or was it just his imagination?) before stopping and looking back to the game. “This *'s boring.” Mark nodded silently. “..yeah- uh- I have an.. idea.” “Yeah? What?” The Irishman didn't look at him, but he tilted his head expectantly.
“Come on.” That was Mark's reply as he stood up, grabbing Jack by the wrist and brining him along with him. Then, Jack was marched over to the coach, face flushing. “Can me and Sean go upstairs and walk?” There wasn't a reply for a moment, then the, slightly intimidating, coach replied. “I don't see why not.”
A grin was flashed at Jack (his heart stopped, or it felt like it) and then he was being tugged up the stairs. To the second floor, with even more bleachers, and even more room to be seen. “Mark?” He was pulled under the nearest set of bleachers.
“Sorry for jerking you around like that.” Mark's hand fell away from Jack's wrist, and the latter reached out involuntarily before stopping himself. “..don't worry ‘bout it.” He looked up and Mark was smiling warmly, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
Mark wandered to the lowest point he could find, frowning slightly as it didn’t seem to have what he was looking for. Stepping back about two of what would be a place to sit above them, he stopped. There was a small bit of metal jutting out along the length of the whole thing. He tapped it, looking down quickly to his phone. A few moments later, a song was playing. He put his phone on the makeshift shelf.
It was a pretty good song. Not fast, but not too slow. The volume was up around halfway, but the way the phone was sitting caused it to amplify. But the best part was, it was a cheesy love song. Jack was slightly awed, blinking at Mark. How many times had he done this before? “Mark, what are ya-?”
His sentence was cut off by a laugh as Mark gripped him by the waist with one hand, the other resting on his side. “So uh, wanna lead me?” Mark offered, grinning widely. Jack mumbled, shifting himself. “Ah- hold on.” He he hesitated before he let his good arm drape over Mark's shoulder, wrapping slightly around his neck.
“Before we start.. Ya gotta tell me what we're doin'.” “We're dancing under the bleachers with a stupid song. Like all the stupid high school movies.” Jack laughed at the blunt answer, though he shuffled slightly closer to the American. “Alright.. but fair warning, I'm terrible at dancing..”
Mark just shrugged. “I got you covered. So I assume you don't wanna lead me?” Jack shook his head a bit and Mark started to move. The song had already changed to the next one (apparently Mark had a playlist, or maybe it was a coincidence the next song was equally cheesy) and Mark went along with it.
They stepped around carefully, back and forth, swaying the whole time. Quiet giggles came from the Irishman, struggling to control himself. Eventually, he forced himself quiet, leaning into Mark hesitantly. Mark moved slowly and surprisingly gracefully, humming softly to the song as if it was something he listened to on a regular basis.
Jack sighed as the song stopped, pushing himself away from Mark nervously. “Uh- well..” “You're cute.” Mark blurted it without thinking, smiling at Jack genuinely. “Ya.. What?” A soft laugh broke from Jack as he asked the question, smiling back. “Oh *- what did I- I said you're cute, didn't I?” There was a sense of defeat in Mark's voice as he repeated his previous statement. “..sorry.”
“Oh, don't apologize.” Despite the heat creeping into his face, Jack was.. comfortable with this. “Yer uh- quite cute yourself.. I guess..” Mark moved towards him again, taking his hand. “Well, uh- thanks..” His fingers fidgeted around Jack's, a bit confused and nervous. “..wanna go?” Jack's head shook slightly. “..nah.. I like it under here.”
The American laughed, leaning forward to press a chaste kiss to the Irishman's forehead. “I'm ok with that.” He let go of Jack's hand and instead, stepped behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist. Jack's eyes closed and he leaned against his friend (or was he more? It wasn't like he was going to ask or anything) gently. “..yer a dork.” Mark laughed softly, nuzzling Jack's hair. “Well, you're a dork..” “..thanks.”

person a letting person b come over to their house (on the grounds the b's parents don't much mind as long as their kid is home at a reasonable time/are going to be doing something) because they were informed their mother would be staying late at work, and their father is out of town. so person a and b are on the couch, watching tv, and b falls asleep on a. a is cool with it, and kind of just lets b snuggle up to them. they stay like that for maybe an hour and a half before, what, someone's opening the front door. a kind of locks up and doesn't move, until their mom walks in the room. then comes the process of explaining what's happening (while whispering), and seeing if she's ok with b staying longer.
