Unable to install Scratch 2 Offline Editor
Hi Scratchers,
I'm having trouble installing Scratch on my machine. I downloaded the latest Adobe Air Runtime and installed it. After doing so, I downloaded Scratch-451.exe from scratch.mit.edu/scratch2download/. However, when double clicking the EXE nothing happens. I tried to disable my virus scanner and run it as “Administrator” and from an elevated command prompt with the same result. Nothing happens, no process is running, just nothing.
I then tried to deflate the EXE using 7zip. That failed as well. Inside the EXE is an archive called static.zip which is corrupted according to 7zip. I downloaded Scratch-451.exe again, hoping that a corrupted download caused the problems, but the result was the same. I also tried Scratch-450.exe and Scratch-448.exe with the same result.
Now I'm not sure if the file is actually corrupted or if something else is wrong. I calculated the SHA1 checksums of the EXE's (see the end of this post). I would appreciate if anyone who was able to install one these Scratch versions could verify one of the checksums.
Best regards
Jasper

Unable to install Scratch 2 Offline Editor
I have had this issue as well on older laptops where the bios clock loses time it resets to an old time. The installer has a digital certificate, so if your time of the file creation (from when you downloaded it) is in the past it will not accept the install and says it is corrupt. It really isn't corrupt just the time attribute is wrong. If this is the issue it is easy to tell. Check the time and date of your machine if old (or the creation time of the file). To fix update the time of the machine and then download the file again. This has worked on two older machines used for schools and fixed them right up.
