My friend sat beside me and visited http://www.hackertyper.com/
He put it in full-screen and started mashing buttons.
Teacher asked why he was “hacking” and had a talk with him about how hackers are bad people.
I was almost literally rofl.

So I guess white hat hackers are bad and terrible people?

No. White hat hackers are almost always Certified Ethical Hackers, or Network Security Technicians. They are the security, the bug hunters, the good guys. The black hats are the ones that hack maliciously, but they aren't necessarily bad. Think of it this way.
Hats:
  • White Hat: The good guys. They work to keep a network safe, and only hack a server when asked to.
  • Gray Hat: The True Neutral people of the hacker world. They sometimes hack maliciously, but usually they hack just to hack, and if they find a bug, they'll report it.
  • Black Hat: The hackers that hack maliciously. If they find a bug in a server, they'll usually exploit it for their own benefit
  • Blue Hat: These hackers usually stay away from the actual hacking part, and just research and develop software to sell to other hackers. They are a bit like the gray hat hackers, as their loyalties are never completely transparent
There are a couple other hat colors, but those are the main four.

NanoRook was being sarcastic.

852719, go tell your teacher about the real hackers (e.g. Dennis Ritchie, Richard Stallman, etc.), not the cracker script-kiddie phreaks.

I should. I actually have a really nice book about the early computer pioneers and I've been reading it and re-reading it constantly. It is the book that inspired me to learn more programming languages than just Scratch and Python

I was making a joke on how this teacher pretty much said “some dudes are bad so all are bad”

plus how do you even lack the common sense to think key mashing = typing words

Should've been so completely obvious.

So, I periodically crash my school computer before shutting it down. After doing one such crash, then rebooting since I wanted to check something, I log back in and find that the newest website the school IT team has decided to block is the Wayback Machine .-.

I accessed a site that is accessible without it though .-. Also I unblock youtube by opening a youtube video in the forum player, then going to that same video on youtube.
(i.e.)
  1. Search for youtube video
  2. Copy video ID
  3. go to https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/VIDEOID
  4. leave it open, go to the youtube link from google
  5. Hopefully it will be unblocked
That's what I do with iBoss though, others may be different
can't take my music away from me

I would be considered a white hat hacker if I disabled Lan School on my chromebook right?

Thankyou! Now i can access blocked sites. I just have to make sure that no one knows about it, uses it and the teacher blocks it.

Remember, the Wayback Machine is an extremely valuable resource for accessing previous versions of webpages that are missing, down, or modified.

Note to school administrators: do not block it.
Note to students: do not cause administrators to block it.

Oh and also is it bad that my school have blocked HTTPS on most websites to try and stop people from using the “HTTPS” method to unblock sites? I showed some teachers that in primary school and they got a new block system because their old system couldn't block HTTPS. It's something to do with encrypted traffic not being able to be interpreted by some block systems.

And for anyone who can't guess what the HTTPS method is, all you have to do is replace HTTP in a URL with HTTPS and some block systems can't block it because of encrypted traffic.
