If you've ever visited the Announcements forum, you know all about the spam that happens there. If not, check it out. So, I'm suggesting that these topics are closed as soon as they're made.
Now, I know what you're going to say (I'm a psychic), “But what if people have questions?!” Here's what I think. Say “Narwhals” in your response so I know you read this. If someone has a question, they can contact the Scratch Team through Contact Us for big questions or concerns, or they could use Questions About Scratch for small questions. This would make Scratch better because there would be less spam.
-
If you agree, please don't post only “Support”. These unconstructive posts will be reported and removed. Please add to the conversation by showing why you support, or adding on to the suggestion, or pointing out some other cons to the suggestion. The same goes for people who say “No Support” and “Semi-Support”.

Support.
I think that the website just has too much announcement spam. It just puts that much more burden on the scratch web servers. (Unless all the data is stored on google cloud.)
Also, it would be ironic if you closed the topic right now.
P.S.: Narwhal

If you're seeing this signature, that means I've come out of my social anxiety hole.
Also, I edit the Scratch Wiki. Check it out sometime it's cool I guess.

I'll support, as I'm sure it will remove any annoyances and may also clear up some space on the Scratch servers.

If you aren't reporting it, it won't be solved.
Using Contact Us doesn't eliminate the stress, instead it increases it by adding email load instead of spam.
No support; you have falsely justified lessening workload on the ST; therefor, “moving” the issue isn't solving it.

Where in the OP did I say that I wasn't reporting it? If you aren't reporting it, it won't be solved.

Okay, I agree with you on that. We don't want to increase the workload. But… think about it this way. Most of the posts on those threads are Scratchers that are new to the forums. Most of them won't go out of their way and create a new thread to spam on. If they did, we would have a lot more spam in the forums. The only reason there is so much spam on those topics is because they're excited and want to post something. (Source=11 year old me) There's only one sticky in the Announcements forum, and it's about member-created sites. Not forum guidelines. So these new forum-ers who spend their time in Announcements don't get to learn the ways of the forums. If we closed up the topics, they would have to post somewhere else, hopefully in the New Scratchers forum where there are guidelines.
-
Also, most Scratchers don't even know what “Contact Us” is. I mean, I'm sure they heard of it, but they never needed it, so they don't know where it is. In most situations, this isn't a good thing. However, it is an advantage in this case because people won't spam Contact Us.
-
Also, like I said in the OP, Contact Us would be used for big questions (which you generally don't see in Announcements) like, “I would like to interview a Scratch Team member about the new update. Is there a time we can talk through comments?” (I know, bad example) For smaller questions like, “What day did this happen? I only saw it today,” Questions About Scratch would be used.

Here's a narwhal an idea: Instead of closing the topic as soon as it's posted, it should be closed a few days later, so Scratchers can post their opinions on the announcement. I've noticed that the spammers post about a week after the announcement was posted.

I semi-support.
How anout the topic remains narwhalized open for a little bit of time, and close after like 1 week or so? That would be plenty of time for discussion.
I just feel that the ST would have a lot more work if this is implemented.

If you clarified the suggestion maybe I could have seen what I did wrong?
Simply liking me to a fallacy hasn't done anyone good.
