Scratch Jr Online?

The title is pretty self-explanatory: after scratch 3.0 is finished, start on creating scratch Jr online. Add some new features that aren't on the app version, like more sprites (Gobo, Tera, Giga, Pico and Nano are some examples) and new blocks.

Scratch Jr. is very efficient in protecting the young generation from the hate and trolls the online Scratch has.

If they feel the need to move on, they shall move on to Scratch 3.0

Agreed. Kids will stumble upon internet negativity as they go, but it's best to give them a safe space.
A pure desktop version of Scratch Jr. could be pretty useful though, as in just an application for download without this whole community thing going on. It would give the core idea to young kids who don't have an iPad without the hassle of using something as comparatively complicated as Scratch first. I would support for that.

Not true. They will remain independent; but Scratch 3.0 will use modified versions of the Scratch Jr. blocks for the horizontal mode.

Like Brax said, that isn't totally true.
Blocks taken from Scratch Jr. will be entering Scratch 3.0

Not really, BAE1 was supporting his own variant, not an online version.

I don't really see the point, if they need Scratch online, use Scratch 3.0 in horizontal mode.

You aren't getting the point, Scratch Jr is an introduction to scratch. Kids can use the simple Scratch Jr editor online without getting tied up in the community, without having to log in, and without being able to see any inappropriate content on scratch

No support as per above
1)Please be constructive and add your own ideas, don't just piggyback off others
2)Look at what you're quoting before you quote it. You're quoting my post, not happyland's

Scratch Jr Online?

Let me put this in a nutshell, as it is getting confusing. Scratch Jr is an app on iPad for younger kids. It is meant to start them out with programming. It is also for them to be safe. The ST is not planning to make it into its own website. They are currently placing finishing touches on Scratch 3.0. In Scratch 3.0, they will be implementing things such as horizontal blocks.

I do not support this as Scratch Jr was meant to be kept separate from the website to protect the younger of the generation.

Yes. If they are young enough to be using scratch junior, I don't think they should be on the internet in the first place.

It is better and more safer for younger children for Scratch Jr. to stay on tablets.

When I meant online, I meant on the desktop. Sorry, I admit I wrote that wrong

As mentioned above, it's restricted to mobile devices in order to keep the younger children safe. They can move on to Scratch 2.0/3.0 whenever they feel as if they have graduated from Scratch Jr.

Scratch jr on a desktop would be cool, but most little kids are probably more comfortable with a touch interface rather than a mouse and keypad controller.
