How do you record music

If you want to make your own sound into Scratch projects, go to your project and click on the sound tab of the sprite you want to have that sound. Then, locate the microphone and click it. Then hit the Record button. You'll be asked if Scratch can access your mic. Click yes, and then start your sound. When finished, press the record button again and then your done! If you want to upload music from Youtube videos into Scratch, click here and then go to the Youtube page where the music is located. Copy the Youtube link and paste it in the box in the Youtube to mp3 converter. Then, click on the Convert Video button and then hit download. Your music is now downloaded onto your computer! Now to add the music, go to the Sounds tab and click the Upload from File button. Locate your music that you just downloaded and click it. Then, confirm that you want the music in Scratch. The longer the music, the longer it will take to upload. When it's done, voila!!! Your music is successfully in Scratch. Here's a bonus script on how to play it over and over again.

To add to what Zack said, keep in mind that many music tracks take a long time to upload (sometimes it may seem as if they aren't loading at all), and may impact loading times for your project. I also find that .wav files upload faster than .mp3 files- You can Google “mp3 to wav converter” to convert them if your music is taking too long to upload, or not uploading at all.

How do you record music

Specifically how does it “not work”. Here are the steps.

1. Click on the mic icon in the sounds tab.
2. Click on the black circle
3. Pop up appears asking “allow or deny?”
4. You choose “allow”
5. Click on the red circle
6. “Recording” appears in red letters and level meter on left side of sound editor shows a vertical green bar
7. You speak into mic making the green bar bounce
8. Press black square to stop recording
9. Waveform of sound is visible in sound editor

How far did you get?
