How do you copy a sprite from one project to another project?

Hi

I need to complete a Scratch project for an online university course. I'm testing out different ideas in different projects. When I (finally!) get an idea just right, I'd like to be able to copy that sprite (with all of its scripts) over to the master project (that I will be submitting). This would save a lot of time.

I've looked around for this info, but can't find it. Also, I've tried to “Search” the Discussion Forum, but I can't. Is it possible to actually “search” the Discussion Forum? It doesn't work for me!

Thanks,

It's easy as 1 2 3:
1. make a sprite!
2.make the scripts!
2.5.realize that 1 2 3 is not enough
2.75. panic
3.you drag the sprite into your backpack.
4.there's more than 3
5.panic
/6 then you drag the sprite out of your backpack.
7.i know things about you
9.number 6 has a mistake
10 you checked number 6
11. there's no 8
12.you checked, again…

Thank you, I found the backpack. Very helpful. I've been using the offline version of Scratch, as sometimes I cannot get internet access. I cannot see the backpack in the offline version. But, I found it in the online version.

It seems weird that it would not be in the offline version. Everything else in the offline version seems to be the same. Hmmm…

workaround for offline versions?

1. right-click sprite (if you're using a mac, try ctrl-click), and the menu will open.
2. click save to local file.
3. the save dialog will open. click Save.
4. open another project.
5. click the folder on “New Sprite:”
6. find the file and click Open.
