Yes, and the media make the “let's do cool programming stuff” hackers look bad. Schools should be encouraging programming, but some clamps down on advanced computer users due to irrational fear of “hackers.” Just see the school IT topic.

The media makes an effort to be “politically correct,” yet continues to misuse the word “hack.” In addition, movies portray negative nerd stereotypes that spread fear of those who create programs.

If anything, your implementation's precision should be consistent with the precision of other Scratch 3.0 blocks.

Why did you create a “numberofdays” variable to store the return value instead of just putting the expression in the return statement? Also, why did you declare and initialize the variable in different statements?

Why did you create a variable instead of immediately returning the value?
1. I am asking them if I should do that.
2. Good Point

Well I don't think anybody is scared of actual hackers in general.

Why did they block github.io? That sounds like a pretty stupid move to me…

Dunno, my school's blocked the main github website so there's probably some sort of belief kids will use it to hack the computers or something -shrugs-

Language is always changing. If the majority uses a word to mean something then why should it be forced on them by a minority to use it another way? If you went up to someone and asked them what ‘hack’ means they'll say someone breaking into a computer system, not ‘someone using computers in a clever way’.

This is probably a good time for another reminder that this is a topic about Scratch 3.0. Perhaps save this discussion for another place…

Anonymous is not a ‘“cracker” hacker group’, a ‘hacker group’, or even a ‘group’. Anonymous is a collective. Anyone can be anonymous, regardless of technical knowledge or political views. Anonymous is not a group. Anonymous is a movement.

Scratch 3.0

Did you guys see this:

https://github.com/LLK/scratch-vm/pull/179#issuecomment-247083730

Thanks for the PR. At this time we'd like to hold off on adding any new GUI features to the VM playground.

We are in the middle of getting the actual Scratch 3.0 editor interface together and hope to open source that repo over the next several weeks. Once that repo is available features like being able to add, remove, and rename sprites would be most welcome over there. For now, I'm going to close this PR. Many thanks.
