IMO, Skylanders ruined the franchise. I mean 1 was okay, in fact I like the 1st game, but the sequels are just no.

I don't call Skylanders a Spyro game.
I mean, he wasn't even a character in Giants!

Skylanders is most definitely not a Spyro game. They just added him on the first one to make people buy it

Wikipedia says that Skylanders was originally going to be a “gritty, dark” Spyro game (Which, I'll admit, I would like to see).

The first is so much fun. And that music is incredible! When I listen to it today I literally almost cry because it reminds me of such a great game that is long forgotten.

Spyro the Dragon

I like the originals, but I like LOS the best. I think I got to the fifth world in the original, but I don't remember what happened after that. I have Spyro The Dragon (Terrible voice acting, but fun gameplay) Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, Spyro 3: (Year of the Dragon I think?), Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly, TLOS: A New Beginning (Amazing!), TLOS: The Eternal Night (EXTREMELY HARD, but still addictive.), and TLOSawn of The Dragon. (BEST ONE!!! But… Ignitus…), I also have season of ice, and flame I think they're called. I'm not too fond of those though. P.S. Does anyone have the console one that came before TLOS, and after Enter the Dragonfly. I forget what it's called, but is it fun? I'm thinking of getting each Spyro Game for my PlayStations. I have all three, except PS4. And IDK if I want to get Skylanders. Is that fun? It looks a tad too kiddish. The originals were too, but for some reason, Skylanders seems too kiddish for the Spyro games. Maybe because the originals are classics, and Skylanders isn't? Oh well, that's still not an excuse even for me not to play.

OMG! Shadow The Hedgehog… that game… was WAY too dark for a Sonic game. So was Sonic 06, but Shadow almost murdered my sleep when I was a seven year old. Anyway, TLOS was a good approach in my opinion. But I wonder how the ORIGINAL Skylanders plan would've been. TLOS was good because it still had similar gameplay to the originals. It also had (not necessarily funny) but amusing humor. Especially how Sparx sounded like a thug in the first two TLOS, and like a bodybuilder in the third. Shadow The Hedgehog, the game however… made me sick. That's why I occasionally switch game favorites from Sonic to Spyro.

Don't get me wrong, Shadow is a great character, and the Sonic series is great, but Shadow the game made me play more Spyro.

Thank goodness. I still didn't want to buy it when a friend recommended it. I guess we all sometimes have different opinions. I seriously need to stop playing a crudload of JRPGs like Final Fantasy all the time, and play Spyro occasionally. Then I'll get my habit back of being addicted to Spyro. P.S. So far, in the original Spyro trilogy, I like the first one best. it just was much easier than the next two. You actually knew where to go with incredibly simple directions in that one. For the next two, you were told the name of the location, BUT NOT HOW TO GET THERE!!! I still haven't beaten the first one. The only one I've beaten is a new beginning, but I kept getting to the end, and leaving it in the other ones.

I'm a kid, and I actually wind up with money at the end of the week. Like $100 bucks at the end of a month. And I get too many gift cards. (I HATE GIFT CARDS SO MUCH!!! BECAUSE I ALWAYS FORGET TO USE THEM!!! But I'm gonna beg my dad to take me to my favorite mall tomorrow to see if I can get Spyro games from a retro game store I like. By the way, on the PS1, can you save on slot 2 for a memory card? You can only save on slot 1 for tomb raider. What about Spyro? My slot 1 doesn't work for some reason. And it's been a while since I played a Spyro game.

I can fanboy about Spyro again if I can buy a Spyro game or a few tomorrow. Thank you for whoever created this discussion. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be wanting to buy a Spyro game tomorrow.

I lost track of how many games there were after the original 3. The very first just means a lot to me. Just watch this video here. The music and empty worlds just make it seem like such a great game, make me wanna cry.

Not to mention that the original Spyro had some of the best graphics for its time.

I think that there are thirteen Spyro games. TOTAL. So I believe ten after the first three. But it did have really good graphics.

By the way, you all are probably MUCH BETTER than I am at Spyro games. I've only beaten one, and ALMOST beat three others. I beat A New Beginning once. I ALMOST beat the other two TLOS games, and the first ever Spyro game. I don't remember how I got stuck. Heck, I didn't even beat the first Spyro game I'd ever laid hands on. That was Eternal Night. And THAT was HARD. I got stuck in this one room in the end, and couldn't figure out how to get out. In Dawn of The Dragon, the enemies started becoming too difficult for me to defeat. I don't REMEMBER how I got stuck in the first Spyro. I'm gonna figure out my capture card, and try to do a 100% walkthrough of ALL (except maybe Skylanders) Spyro games. I really want to get back into them.

Maybe. If you don't know what it's like, check out gameplay on YouTube.
