"Camera" controls that treat the viewing window as a camera view?
So what if the Scratch player viewing window was treated like a “Camera”?
And you could have blocks on the stage/backdrop panel like:
- ‘zoom in (x%)’
- ‘zoom out (x%)’
- ‘camera shake (time in seconds)’
This could be cool for certain screen related effects in games, or for movie/skit making. Currently to simulate anything like this it involves a lot of workarounds and awkward background sprite/backdrop editing.

Sure, good idea.
^Perhaps those blocks would only work once the camera/stage view is zoomed in because at no zoom you can already see everything on stage (unless maybe sprites and stuff will eventually be able to move offscreen… but even then IDK if it'd really be good).

No camera shake. That's totally unecessary if you've got a few other blocks that change the x and y.

There is a work around
Move x
Move y
Move z (size block)
Shake (glide block)
Move x
Move y
Move z (size block)
Shake (glide block)
I am mostly inactive on scratch but, I will check in now and then!

This might work better if you had a custom stage size. Then the stage would have motion blocks to control the camera.

As much as I would love screenception, I don't see the point.

For those of you who don't understand this, basically it allows making games like ‘Diep.io’ easier by moving the camera instead of the sprites in the frame.

1. Many projects are animations/games. No support. This seems like something only useful for animations and games, which aren't the main purpose of Scratch. Also, these seem like 3D features, which are too specific/complex for Scratch.
2. I'm 100% sure this would be for 2D.

yeah, they're only like 75% of the projects on the site No support. This seems like something only useful for animations and games, which aren't the main purpose of Scratch. -snip-
And all the world over, each nation's the same,
They've simply no notion of playing the game.
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won,
And they practice beforehand, which ruins the fun!

How????? There's only one easy way i know of to do anything resembling this, the No Support, you can make it yourself easily
set size to (400) %method, which A) requires a decent knowledge of scratch to figure out yourself, B) looks pretty ugly, and C) is unwieldy and annoying to use.

I FREAKIN LOVE THIS IDEA. Scrolling in scratch is extremely hard, especially with enemies and other things. I TOTALLY support this and really want this to be added.
