Speedpaints?
I'm an artist, and I'd like to use Scratch to upload some of my art. Now, I know I can just upload a picture of my art and post it, but I'd like to do something new: speedpaints. The only problem is that I don't know if it's possible to record myself using a different program, and then put it on scratch. I guess what I'm asking is if I can only create speedpaint videos if I use Scratch's drawing program? I'm honestly just not a big fan of it. I like to use FireAlpaca, so I'd have to use a recording program to record a speedpaint. If I record a speedpaint on a seperate recording program, can I upload that video to scratch (wow, I really should have said that at the start)?
I don't have any way of recording what I do on my computer just yet, so I want to make sure it's compatible before I do anything.
Thank you!

Sadly, you can't upload video to scratch. You could, however draw a small bit, screenshot it, draw more screenshot it, and continue doing that till it's done. Then you could upload the images, and set when you want them to show.

Thank you for letting me know! I have to say I'm a bit disappointed, but I like your suggestion. Thanks a bunch, my dude!

I'm fairly confident you can upload gifs - and ever frame will upload as a costume.

I found that if the gif has over 100 frames it won't upload ( i do have a slow computer though) I'm fairly confident you can upload gifs - and ever frame will upload as a costume.

You can screen shot your pictures of art from other programs and upload it to scratch. Or if you are drawing on paper, take pictures of it and upload them into your project

No, you can still upload videos to Scratch using this workaround: convert your video into a series of separate GIFs (the reason being that Scratch won't let you upload an overlarge file unless you break it up into pieces), and then individually upload those GIFs to Scratch. The Scratch editor will automatically assign each frame of the GIF to a sprite costume, and then all you need to do is cycle through the costumes.
EDIT: And as Twicane said below, if your GIF files have a lot of frames, you might need to cut them down a bit in order to fit everything into one project – the maximum file size for an individual project is 50MB.

Actually. If you really have a high quality vid. You won't be able to put more than 20 seconds+/- That's because if 100 frames per sprite, a sprite with high quality would be around 25mb. But if it's low quality(less colours), probably, 2-9mb per sprite. 50 seconds is my most I've put so far.
Here's a example of the above.

I assume you've got the art drawn. Maybe you could ask in the I can't get my thing to do a speedpaint…Help With Scripts forums about how to work the scripting!
