Seriously, don't pay for Norton - it's heavy and ineffective. Windows Defender (BitDefender Free if you need more power) + EMET + uBlock Origin + common sense should be enough. Or just use Linux.

Also, there is no excuse to not have offsite backups of your files…

Ok I want to make a point. Norton, mcaffe, windows defender or any other viruses don't offer 100% protection. They can't. There are always loopholes. One of the biggest mistakes of trying to be secure is thinking your “safe”. Don't ever think antivruses will always save you. They don't. Not even linux always. Here is the biggest and best way to be secure:
1. Be smart.
2. Have good passwords.
3. Keep your computer up to date.
Those are the basics of being secure. Antivrirus are not bad to use but don't make you safe. The best way is to never get a virus on your computer for norton to stop. That is where being smart comes in. You do that by not visiting shady websites, not installing shady software. Only install software from sources you trust. Then there's the issue of having good passwords. If your pasword is super short, simple, or maybe it is something like scratch123!
Let me warn you I could easily break in to your computer in minutes. It is best to keep your paswords as secure as possible. Look up diceware passwords. It is an easy way to make secure passwords. Finally we have keeping your computer up to date. This is important. Maybe you don't like the new version of windows however that won't change the security vulnabilities. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/windows-users-beware-youve-got-serious-security-issue/
That link above contains one of the security problems of out of date windows.
Oh yah if you use mac or linux those same rules apply to.

Serious question, have you tried turning it off and back on again?

What type of videos don't play? Does any sound at all work? Is the volume on properly? If you're using headphones, are they broken?

Hello everyone, I found a 100% guaranteed way to ensure you are safe from viruses, and other kinds of malware. It's really easy to do.
It only works on windows, sorry.
All you have to do is uninstall your network drivers.
Wrong. http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-37431335 http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/08/meet-usbee-the-malware-that-uses-usb-drives-to-covertly-jump-airgaps/ http://superuser.com/questions/181254/how-do-you-boot-linux-with-networking-disabled

Also, you can still reinstall the network drivers through a USB stick or other means of copying files into the computer.

1. That does not only work on Windows
2. Viruses can be transmitted other ways

A topic dedicated to all sorts of computer Viruses.
((NOTE : You may not talk about anything inappropriate about/in the virus, nor the virus if the virus is inappropriate. Please keep the language and behavior kids-friendly))

You can talk about new and old viruses, I however think that the ‘95-’98 viruses are the best.
Talking about Trojan and CIH viruses.
Talking about famous viruses like : Ambulance, Casino, Techno & Skynet.
Talking about cool viruses like Bumerang Windows Worm/Virus.
Talking about Windows Worms too.

(Talking about a cool guy who uses or dares to use viruses for the Youtubers : http://www.youtube.com/user/danooct1?feature=watch )

Talking about anything Virus-related.
Talk about the consequences after using a (cool, funny) Virus

((ENJOY posting and Scratch on! ^^))

While it's cool that you folks are learning about an important computer security topic, such as viruses, I would like to emphasize that we do not want to encourage the creation or use of malicious computer code from the Scratch site. We also don't want to encourage any “hacking” of other people's computer systems. If you would like this topic to continue, please limit your conversation to the discussion of existing viruses: how they work, their removal and prevention, etc. Thanks.
My Navi deals with my computer viruses. Have you ever tried using yours? I mean not every Navi is as cool as GyroMan.

It's a weird light ball thing in LoZ Ocarina of Time that shouts “Hey! Listen!” and annoys you every 10 seconds

Ok I know you don't mean that Navi but it's good to have a bit of humour from time to time.
