It's OK if you don't supportWhich is why I don't support.Which is why it would be either impossible to turn it off or EXTREMELY challenging to turn it off. But I'm sure Scratch could make the ads relevant and non distracting.everyone would want to turn this off, which makes the entire ad system pointlessCan you please explain more on your suggestion? I have read the OP AND the clarifications made for users, like, 7 times and I still don't know what you're trying to sayIf the OP won't explain I will. BAsically this suggestion is for showing targeted banner ads for other Scratch projects& Scratchers to people with Scratch accounts on Scratch. All the ads would have to follow the CG and all ads must take you to a place on the website. This suggestion would allow Scratchers to get more people looking at their projects&Profile if they want.

Um… what?Lol! I made similar suggestion on another website! XDYeah, but if people don't know how to go to show and tell, they can use this.
Anyways you can just use Show and Tell section right?
Lots of people are checking Show and Tell section, you can review and make opinions about projects! I don't really know anyone that has problems with show and tell section.
Anyway do you mean banners on scratch?
I once advertised a project on the Show and Tell forum and it didn't really help.

Would ads even help get projects known? Most people would just ignore the ads, won't they?

I've never seen it anywhere either, and I'm guessing it's false. Don't the Show and Tell topics count as advertisements?Scratch is supposed to be ad-free.Just out of curiosity where does it say that? I'm legitimately curious.

No support, Scratch is supposed to be ad-free.Do you mind citing your statement? I can't find any info on the Scratch Wiki.
Actually, I found this in the terms of use-
3.6 Commercial use of Scratch, user-generated content, and support materials is permitted under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 license. However, the Scratch Team reserves the right to block any commercial use of Scratch that, in the Scratch Team's sole discretion, is harmful to the community. Harmful commercial use includes spamming or repeated advertisement through projects, comments, or forum posts.
So i'm not sure what the Scratch Team has decided about this. I will contact them and see what they say.

Actually, I found this in the terms of use-I think that means they don't want someone spamming comments consisting of just links all over famous Scratchers' profiles.3.6 Commercial use of Scratch, user-generated content, and support materials is permitted under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 license. Ads for Scratch Projects would be okay, I would think. That would be non-commercial use. However, I kind of think that most people would find this annoying - but I might be wrong. No support, Scratch is supposed to be ad-free.Do you mind citing your statement? I can't find any info on the Scratch Wiki.

No support for ads as a new feature because there are plenty of other ways to advertise. You can use Show and Tell, or cram loads of project links into your signature like I do. Getting your projects in studios is a pretty good way of getting them seen, if you go for the popular studios.
There would also be a lot of work for the ST in approving ads.
I wonder if it would be possible to set up an advertising network of sorts? Like a group of Scratchers advertising each others' projects from their own projects. I could imaging it not being very popular though.
