Please don't yell. While recolors can be a little annoying, everybody has a right to remix. As long as the person has given proper credit to the original creator, they have in fact changed the project, and therefore it is perfectly acceptable.

i have been told this a million times. If someone recolors my project even if they gave credit, they stole my art and it isnt acceptable to me. I warn and then report if they ignore me

And your reporting will do nothing. Please don't yell. While recolors can be a little annoying, everybody has a right to remix. As long as the person has given proper credit to the original creator, they have in fact changed the project, and therefore it is perfectly acceptable.

Scratch is protected under a creative Commons license. This means that everything you share on Scratch can be used by anybody, as long as they give credit. If you don't want anyone recoloring your art, don't share it on Scratch. Simple.

Recolors are actually fine, I think you're overreacting a little.

Let's remember that Scratch is a community of remixing - it's a core value of the site. Every script, song, and costume on Scratch is freely available to other Scratchers to reuse to express their own ideas however they wish - so long as they give credit. As a member of the Scratch community, all those millions of assets are available to you! The “price” you pay for this is that every asset you share becomes part of the collective assets for others to use in their creations.
On the Scratch website, Recoloring is considered valid remixing and is allowed. Please do not be disrespectful or discouraging to Scratchers that choose to remix.
