And even more support. And more.
And even more.
And more, more and more.

Okay…. a bit useless since it's going to disappear when you change it but otherwise looks good.

I wonder if I'm the first one not to really like this. I'm too lazy to check through.was my post ignored?
I think the current default icon makes the site less bland. It's not always a matter of “matching”.

Supported. The current “New Scratcher” default icon is very unfitting, and, frankly, blurry.
Don't get me wrong, for the previous site, it was absolutely perfect, and fit quite well. The current one? No so much.

Support! I REALLY get annoyed by the blurriness of the current picture. The blue and silver gradient gets old too.

Honestly, I'm just not a fan of it and almost looked brighter than the white background, which kind of hurt my eyes.
I don't realy see anything “annoyingly” blurry about it, and the image being sort of dim is nice because it seems a bit boring, encouraging the user to change it to something more creative. The gradient also stands out from the other more solid-colored icons so new scratchers can be found more easily.
I see nothing wrong and a lot of things right about the old logo, and honestly, just because we are in 2.0 does not mean we need to change everything about the way the site looks to make it look exactly the same theme as all the other new “up to date” things outside scratch.
Just because something is old doesn't mean it sucks and should be replaced.

I agree. Maybe it was trampled by all the people overly obsessed with unnecessary “progress” I made a post expressing this like a minute before I saw what you said.

If we do need to update something it's the _meow_ , _gobo_ , and _waffle_ because they look very pixelated in 1.4.

And the old default profile picture shouldn't blend with the theme because it could confuse very new users into thinking it was stuck that way and was not a simple image that could be easily changed.

and the image being sort of dim is nice because it seems a bit boring, encouraging the user to change it to something more creative. The new icon is even more boring, it's just the Scratch Cat on a plain blue background…
The gradient also stands out from the other more solid-colored icons so new scratchers can be found more easily. You do have a point there, but the ranking just beneath the icon is more of a giveaway. New Scratchers could just change their icon right away, but their title would give them away.
I just prefer the look of the new one over the old one. The new one is crisp and clear while the old one is fuzzier.
(Also, do note that not everyone comes to the forums first. In fact, only a very small fraction of Scratchers actually come to the forums, so not everything is centered around the forums.)
