What defines “underviewed” and how would you apply for this “underviewed scratcher of the week”?

Well, I'm not that sure yet, but underviewed could mean less than 200 views on any project and maybe the application could be like the FPC application. Or, maybe there wouldn't be any application at all, just that the scratch team chooses the scratcher.
Thanks for your interest.

12 million users? That is going to be a big problem. First, you need to define what “unpopular” means. There are so many scales to popularity, it begins to get quite ambiguous between users. Also, how will they select those users? It just doesn't really make that much sense.
Next, Scratch isn't about popularity. Scratch is about programming, and there are actual purposes for the social media properties when sharing something onto the website. For example, Comments were designed to bring feedback to others projects. Followers were made so that people can actually get updates. It is not intended to be a “Popular-o-meter”.
If they don't get a like and they have to pout about it, then something is not right. Scratch should not be someone's primary life. Besides, the internet is such a big place, and you can't name all of the created projects on Scratch. With that kind of logic, you might as well name every single city in the United States.
Sorry, but I can't support. Scratchers need to realize that Scratch can't be their primary life.
Ok, I see your point, and it's a good one. (Sorry, I have a habit of thinking up really out-of-the-box ideas
)Well, scratch is supposed to be a friendly environment, and when people get a lot of attention, people tend to get jealous and that doesn't really help the friendliness of scratch.
I know scratch should not be someone's primary life or anything, but some people just go to scratch for fun and happiness. It doesn't make their experience more fun or happy when they see that nobody really pays attention to them.
Also, I apologize for my ideas if they insulted you.
please don't report this :| (um why am I saying this?)

None of them insulted me. Also, your ideas are fine. They just show many flaws that just can't be fixed unfortunately.12 million users? That is going to be a big problem. I believe that if one thinks that Scratch is a friendly place, then they must understand that being famous is not necessary if they want to enjoy the full environment of Scratch.
In fact, there are plenty of resources to have your projects being showed to the community more. For example, the Show and Tell forums. Some people show their projects to other users. If they are not shy, then they can dive into the community- participate in collaborations, studios, etc.
You can tell that there are other ways to have scratchers enjoy Scratch rather than having fame.

Support, I guess? Scratch isn't about fame, but really- everybody feels better when their projects get views. It's a cool idea.
A suggestion- you could have people suggest scratchers to be ‘underviewed scratcher of the day’ like people propose projects to be featured, and there could be requirements, like they have to have under a certain number of followers, and you can't suggest yourself. Just like the featured projects

Semi-Support, while there are stuff that are well-made that don't have enough loves, Scratch isn't all about popularity.

Indifferent, what would the requirements be? Fame is subjective.. Plus, since as you said there's about 12 million Scratchers, it would take… *funky calculations *actually just 12 million divided by 365** About 32,876 years if one Scratcher was to be featured every day. If there were more, say 7, *more weird calculations* it would take still 4,696 years to feature every Scratcher. But since new accounts are made every day, some accounts are deleted every day, some accounts are abandoned every day, etc. it would take even longer.
So, still indifferent, but leaning towards no support, there's just too many variables, and it would take years (like over 1,000) to accomplish this. The only way this could happen in less than a century's time, ~2740 Scratchers would have to be in the bar every day.

Support. Also it bothers me when people say stuff like “Scratch isn't about popularity” about these kinds of forums. This website is for people to share the things they've made and so they can have people see their work but if most people aren't able to have their work seen and some people who have a lot of people already look at their work get even more people to look at their projects then its not fair to the less known scratcher because they rarely get their work seen so some people quit because of no one looks at their work then why even bother?

Please don't quote another user without adding your own opinions to the discussion. How would this work? You can't be like “HEY YOU IM FORCING YOU TO LIKE THIS PERSONS CONTENT BECAUSE EQUALITY”^^
In my opinion, it's really subjective- people decide what they like, and you can't change that.
No Support, but you could always do your own little thing.

Hi! I'm Snowdrop.Complete support! Except it should be more than one project maybe like 5-10 like featured projects!
And today I'm here to talk about something, Mission Scratch Equality.
Many scratchers are underviewed and many are viewed a lot. I know that popularity doesn't matter in scratch, but what's the point of making projects if you know that nobody, or at least not many scratchers, are going to see it? Like what if someone worked really, really hard on a project, hoping that it would attract some attention, and it didn't even earn one love or favorite? Kind of like this and this. Those are only two examples; there are many more out there!
I know that this might be hard (after all there are about 12 million scratchers out there, good job MIT!), but I know that if we try, it's completely possible.
One approach to this problem, please do not judge me, might be to set up a Underviewed Scratcher of the Day thing on the front page. Like maybe every day or so, another underviewed scratcher could be on the front page so more people could view them and so that the scratcher will feel more welcome into the scratch community. This could take a few days to set up but it's for a good purpose, guys!
So yeah, that's about it, try to get members of the scratch team to do something about it too.
