would use my normal computer but it crashes constantly

I think SU's use of “clod” combines the two definitions. It's likely also a curse word on Homeworld, given the strong reactions characters initially have to it, and not just something that Peridot made up.
It was already an insult, peridot just used it. The team chose clod as her insult because it happened to relate to clay and rocks.
