A way to change your username without making any confusion.
No support.
Workaround 1: Get used to your username and understand it isn't exactly the end of the world. Sorry if I sound harsh.
Workaround 2: Create a new account.
Workaround 3: Contact Us and see if the ST will change it.

No support, just keep the name you're stuck with, you'll live. And if you want a new username, move accounts…
It isn't worth reworking the architecture for.
Moving accounts is hard if you have so many projects you like and are working on. What if you want to work on those projects, and deactivate your old account?

The original post is a bit confusing, however I do agree on some points and have a wonderful idea:
Each user has their own ID (similar to other sites), which would be 00000 or something similar to that. That would stick with users, and it could be used to identify specific users When usernames are changed, the ID stays the same, but their username doesn't.
Agreed with the username change, but it should be similar to Minecraft - 31 day pause for username changers, but 37 day pause for everyone else to claim that username.
Thank you for reading,
Austinato

I really don't like the “IDea” (see that pun there? hehe) because I think the OP was right on having a Twitter based system. Also, IDs are quite dull, how would it be useful for other than the ID staying the same?

The website/server would not have to replace each scenario of “Austinato” with “NatoAustin” (an example, of course.)The original post is a bit confusing, however I do agree on some points and have a wonderful idea:

Good point but I think the OP's suggestion is better. It would be great to have a separate nickname and username on Scratch.
