Costume Folders.

(i had no idea what to call this, so ill go with costume folders until i get something better)

Folders would be for costumes they would be nameable and collapse-able, meaning better costume sorting.

You create a folder, by pressing the “folder” button on the costumes sidebar/menu the button would be located by where the “new costume” button is located, when creating a folder, you would be prompted to name it.

it would work somewhat like this, you crate a “new folder” and you click in-between 2 costumes, the costumes the folder goes under, are the costumes in the folder, you could drag the folder up or down. there would be a little arrow, you click on it and the costumes “dissapear” (inside the folder) to get the costumes to go back into the sidebar, you would click on the arrow again. everything with the costumes would work as normal while inside the folders. the folders are just for sorting.

i understand you can name a costume, but i would find it easier to do this.

remember, if you support, or don't support. tell why, don't just say “support”

No support. Make sprites for your folders.

This may sound dumb, but how would multiple sprites help organize costumes that have to be in the same spite?

Then just do it normally.

Support! This would be super-great if the project has lots of sprites or something.

i have tried to make a game with over 70 costumes for each character and enemy. i had to copy some of the sprites so i could have a better basis for the animation, and even with naming, they were extremely hard to find.

it shouldn't take 3 minuets to find a costume. that majorly slowed down production time, and the game has been scrapped because of it.

Then don't use as many costumes.

but there were attacks, walking, idle, jumping, crouching, and death animations. I needed those to be smooth, not choppy and strange. to do that, i needed at-least 15 frames to do each of those and make it smooth.

Make a sprite for each thing.
that would just make it complicated, i have the player, walking, and then you stop walking (example, for my scrapped platformer) i need to switch from the walking sprite to the idle sprite, then the main player attacks, time to switch the spries again, On and on and on, and then i have to repeat the process with the enimies, and the boss.

Support! In my games i get the same project as you, it's really frustrating to get to a certain frame.
