Loves and favourites both add activity to your activity box, to the right of the featured project in your profile, but when you favourite something, it adds that project to your “favourites bar” in your profile.

Loving a project says that you like it.
Favoriting a project says, not only do you like the project, you like it so much that you'd want to see it again.

They're basically the same. c: Favoriting a project, however, is like a bookmark, so that you can access the project again if you want to re-view it.

I have been wondering what is the difference between a love and a favourite.
A love is sending someone a note saying: You're cool!
A favorite is sending someone a note saying: You're cool! I wrote your name and number down in my contacts..

Love it: Telling the creator you love the project
Favorite: Bookmarking the project.

Good question!
The difference is that by loving it is just telling the owner of the project that you love the project.
Favouriting it is saying you love it so much you want to see it again.
And by favouriting it it's also live bookmarking it, because all the projects you favourite show up in a bar on your profile.

A favorite is just a bigger love. It means more, so that's why you usually see less favorites than loves on projects. Loves are like liking a video on youtube, but favorites are like subscribing.
