The story of the game is outlined below. It is in white text, so you have to highlight it to see it. Again, I implore any reading this to NOT try to read the text below and please let the game be a surprise. :) This ESPECIALLY goes for members of the other team.

Your sister is sick with a horrible disease called Lachrymia. She and the game's main character are brother and sister, aged about 17 and 14, respectively, and are orphaned. The brother goes out on a quest to find Aerotint, a mystical herb that is said to be the only way to heal Lachrymia.
The only problem: the brother is sick with Lachrymia was well, and he must search for and obtain the Aerotint before either he or his sister perish. He makes his way through the world, helping other people with illnesses along the way, by means of making potions for them. He finally gets to the Aerotint, which is guarded by a huge, ancient dragon. The dragon is dying, and is just able to give the hero the last Aerotint plant, a special charm necklace, and the title of “Guardian of the Aerotint” before he dies. There is only one Aerotint plant left: it can be used for either him or his sister, and the other one will perish. The brother makes an agonizing journey back home, as he decides to sacrifice himself and give the Aerotint to his sister. He collapses and dies right at the footstep of his home. However, the Aerotint falls out of his hands, and the charm that had been around his neck is pressed into the ground. Sensing the power from the charm, the Aerotint starts to grow rapidly all around the fallen brother. The charm was the key to the Aerotint's growth. A maid comes outside, uses the Aerotint to heal the sister, and the Aerotint also revives the brother. The brother and sister thus work together as the Guardians of the Aerotint, and they help people in all the land to put an end to the sickness of Lachrymia.

Okay. So how will the gameplay if you know what I mean. Cause we need to have the whole layout of the game figured out. (Btw I'm working on the intro and title screen.

Here is an outline of the gameplay, as we have it figured out so far. Same rules apply as the story post.

You play as the brother character. You are in a scrolling area, filled with monsters, scenery, and collectable items. Monsters will attack you and lower your HP, but you can also attack them with a weapon. When a monster is defeated, or when you attack a resource, it will be destroy and will drop an item corresponding to what the monster or resource is. This will go into your inventory. You keep fighting until you run out of HP or you decide to flee the area. Both will take you back to the town.

There are a lot of different weapons. Each weapon will have an attack stat and some have special effects. Weapons can be selected and equipped from the inventory. Weapons can be bought from a shop in the town OR can be crafted in the town workstation. The crafting menu you be sort of like the inventory, only it will show the items needed to craft the weapon. If you have the right materials, a craft button will be there and you can craft the weapon, which will be added to the inventory as the items needed to craft it will be taken out of your inventory. You can also craft potions in the same way.

Potions can be used in battle to help you in various ways, depending on the potion. You can only bring three potions to battle, though. These potions can be selected in the village (somewhere, perhaps at the shop). This adds a cap to your power in battle (no spamming health potions) and also adds a bit of strategy. Potions can be used in battle simply by clicking the potion loadout buttons corresponding to the potion you want to use.

Is a forum really necessary? I just want to get on with the game. I need a worthwhile sig. I just don't know what to put.

It's useful for being able to make long posts without a character limit and that won't be buried under other comments.

I've never really used forums… this is my second post xD Anyways, just an alert guys, but I will be leaving from the 19th to the 26th and will not be on scratch at ALL. I will try to do as much work as I can. (I hope to finish the inventory description, add a town, add the scrolling tiles, maybe the map.) But how will we unlock different areas?

Don't worry about unlocking new areas, I can take care of that.

Okay then. I should really get working on the other stuff!

The only thing we should worry about is getting gameplay into each of the regions.

So should we just name all the things still to be done?

Okay:

- A less-buggy solution for the scrolling tiles
- Finish inventory design
- We need monsters for the Ocean Biome, some for the Forest Biome, and the Sky Islands
- Drops for each of the monsters
- fix the bug that destroys the ‘depth’ effect, by allowing the player to walk on scenery.
- A town, and all of it's shops and stuff
- the ocean biome, forest biome, and sky islands biome.
- Potions
- We'll need more items, but not necessarily more weapons.
- Bunch of other minor stuff.

So yeah. Good luck guys… Although we really need all the other team members to actually do stuff.

- Town area needs to be implement, with a Shop and Workshop that when entered open an inventory style shop or crafting workshop, respectively.

- More monsters, drops, and resources for all areas except Grasslands.

- Cutscenes, dialogue, and linear story elements must be put in after the engine is down pat.

- Music and sound effects gathered and implemented.

- Many iterations of graphic and code optimization

- As much polish as we can manage.

You know what? I'll try to do more stuff later tonight, but for now I am going to share my v8.3 version of the game. If you want to can make updates to it or whatever. I'm sorry for being a bit inactive recently, but I kinda need a break. I am sorry, but I'll pick up the pace I hope when I come back from vacation.
