There should be an Scratch VR app where you can use your hand to make projects.
You would need a LEAP motion to do that.
[…] and a HDMI port on your mobile device
LEAP uses USB, so it should be compatible with certain devices. I don't see why you would need an HDMI…
Consumer VR uses HDMI

EDIT: Wait are you talking about Sony or Samsung VR?
I don't know, Probably Samsung or IOS

[…bunch of posts discussing the idea…]
You need at least a Skylake Intel i5 for VR.

Do you think that Apple or Samsung has beast CPUs in their devices?
Like seriously, playing your favorite game would melt your device if they did.

Mobile scratch VR doesn't seem very plausible. It probably could be written for the SteamVR client for HTC Vive but not the Oculus Rift because it uses an Xbox controller.

(If most people on scratch could afford $600 GPUs)

Edit: wrong account

You would need two to sense depth, though…

I know. I was saying you could instead use two webcams.

No, you don't. If you want ‘true’ depth, fine, but cues go a long way, and it sounds like 2D tracking is good enough. I don't know if there are easily accessible solutions, but this is done to various degrees in academia.

“Good enough” is never good enough in VR. If things are even a bit unrealistic, the immersion is completely ruined…

So, basically, polish this up.
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/85740
(Make it 120 FPS, add side by side, allow importing 3d images, etc.)
This can tell your movement and direction you are facing.

I'm pretty sure this is talking about VR goggles that you put on your head and let you can look around.

Maybe in a world where Flash is the new deity.

Yes, if flash could have full control of your graphics drivers (and be able to detect a VR-ready GPU!)
Flash will rule all our graphics

Sigton

No, graphical drivers like AMD or Nvidia will. (Not to mention the power of 64 bit and 128 bit. :3) Anyways, 128 bit is more powerful than 64 bit, and consoles like PS4 and Xbox One rule the world. Now can someone invent 160 FPS???

I'm not you could pick up on the difference between 160 FPS and 120 FPS… The VR headset I made requires Nvidia to do streaming, and I bet others do/will.
