I cannot download the offline editor. I get the message that the file is corrupted and to try again. I have updated flash player and adobe air but still no joy. I have tried the optional download but the scratch file doesn't open - there doesn't seem to be an exe file in there?
Any help appreciated.

Can I download a project onto my computer, add to the project, and then have it replace my old project on scratch? Before (With Scratch1), I just had to type in the same name… Now it seems I can no longer actually update my projects offline. Is there any way I can work on my projects offline and have the changes be saved in the online version?

Just a bit of feedback
I went to use the offline editor and it told me an update was available (v385 I think) and it installed fine - a bit slow (took about 3 mins) but it seems to have worked OK which is the main thing.
As I'm setting up new laptops in my schools, I'm installing it now and intend to start using for real classroom work next term

It's probably just a reminder. So, the Scratch Team posted this as a new news item today… but, the news is really 4 months old.
What gives?!
If you don't have any new news, just don't post anything.

I'm not sure if this is aimed at me or not but I'm not a Scratch team member - just a old Scratcher

I couldn't download it because after I agreed with the adobe warning it came up with and said that there was a damage in the file… The Scratch Team is pleased to announce that a new beta version of the Scratch 2 Offline Editor is available. This version can now upload projects to the website and is now compatible with some versions of Linux and older versions of Mac OSX.
Because the application is now called ‘Scratch 2’, if you have previously installed the ‘Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor’ it is necessary to delete it before installing this version.
You can install it and find out more details here:
http://scratch.mit.edu/scratch2download/
Please leave us feedback and information about any issues here. Be sure to let us know what operating system version you're using. Screenshots are always helpful.
Thanks!
Shane

And thank you for clarifying.
BTW. The website version is alreay mostly localized (it's partly in Dutch f.e.) is there a reason the off-line version is still English only?
If you click the globe symbol on the top left of the menu, you can change the language. Note that the Tips still need to be translated.
use google translate or Poortranslate.com lol

This is not a glitch in the offline editor, but one in the online version. I loved and favorited a project with zero loves and favorites, and the loves were fine, but the favorites stayed at zero. When I clicked the favorite button again, it unfavorited and became -1 favorites.

I love the editor! However…
I have found that when I switch from script view to costume view on a sprite, the sprite is shifted in view and I cannot make changes in the panel view as I can on the online version. My method is the same so, it must be a anomaly of some sort any suggestions for resolving this issue?
By the by. However I will tell you that if I have work that I consider unique or important to me, that I NEVER share that work on the SCRATCH public platform because it is too vulnerable to plagiarism and outright theft. I believe that is a shame because I want to share my work, I desire to have people use my work, and I want people to get creative ideas form the seed of my work but, in the current state of things I am restricted because I have no protection at all. To me that seems counter intuitive to promoting new and fresh progress.
I hope that the day will come that I can share my work from the editor to a player or website without the fear of losing it to a troll. SCRATCH on and thank you for this fine product it has allowed me to create thing in programs that I could never have done before! I have used the idea of SCRATCH as a tool yet, I never wanted to be creatively exposed due to it's openness.
